@@jasonlobo2350 I'm not sure about that. Pikachu edgeguards Shulk really well, and the combination of safe moves and small hurtbox gives Shulk some trouble in neutral. The one major advantage Shulk has is that he gets kills at earlier %'s than Pikachu. I'll just say that the matchup doesn't 'feel' even, though I don't think it strongly favors Pika either. In any event, Kome played it masterfully.

Roy is definitely better than shulk. Why do people overrate the heck out of this character? He’s more like top 10 or top 15

@@okayperson3041 can you explain why Roy is better? Because frame data is the only advantage Roy have, shulk has more range, better recovery, better edguard capabilities, comparable kill power and damage output, can survive to true kill confirms, and a far better matchup spread

@@pistarrafernandez9830 Roy basically has Speed active at all times, has better and more consistent combos, can deal Buster damage without the drawbacks, and can kill at Smash percents with no drawbacks. Roy of course doesn’t have the extremes of said Arts, but like you said, he has those comparable traits all at the same time, with no cooldown. You saw in this set alone how many times Smash Art got stalled out. You can’t stall out Roy’s kill power, or his Buster-like damage output, or his borderline top 10 speed. Sure, Shulk’s recovery is better, but Roy’s isn’t as bad as some people think. Its not GOOD, but its serviceable. And sure, Shulk has slightly more range, but Roy has significantly better frame data on basically every move. The only thing that Shulk is objectively better at is escaping combos, and surviving to high percents because of Shield Art. And sure, Shulk has a better MU spread, but Roy’s explosive nature and INSANE kill power allows him to win some of his bad matchups anyway. Other than that though, Roy is better than Shulk in almost every way. I by no means think that Shulk is bad, in fact, I can respect someone putting him in top 10. But better than Roy? No contest Roy is better

Shulk and about smash art it can kill earlier than anything Roy can pull shulk can easily steal stocks at 60% consistently, esam could not even stall properly smash art lol, and that was fucking pikachu, you think any character can stall smash art? Come one haha

The whole "intercept his start up" advice for counterplay to Shulk is a myth. It only works on trash Shulk players.

It's not the be all end all. But its a part of the mu. And Pika is particularly good at it

Nah it's been 3 years and it's results are barely developing at all besides ESAM's influence and maybe ShinyMark, it's more a player thing at this point if Pika gets any relevance in current meta (not even top 20 results btw)

Esam beats top players all the time, but loses to everyone else. It's not the character. Plus nobody uses pika

Really the only neutral tool pika has in this MU plus the damage is nice considering combos are unreliable against shulk and shield art

@@pistarrafernandez9830 ok 4 moves was an exaggeration. What i mean is that, for the most part, most of his kit is either not very good or very situational and so you end up spamming the same 4 moves over and over to win.
