I'm no shulk expert but it seems like he wants to make the most of whatever art he selects not to mention his frame data is booty butt cheeks

He's always been a fairly patient Shulk player, but he seems especially disciplined this tournament.

1. Don't jump as much or challenge Shulk in the air. 2. Get more grabs. 3. Use combos.

Coming from a Shulk main, it’s a loosing match up to Mario. Shulk outranges Mario so bad

As a Mario main this matchup is hell. Out ranges Mario well, edge guards very easily, and cancels his combos with shield or smash art

@@insertname1740 It does matter. Cause when he got the hits he didn't make them count. He kept throwing him offstage instead of building damage

shield art invalidates combos

@@fupalover and then Kome activates shield or Smash and invalidates the combos because of too much/too little knockback. I won't say I'm that well-versed in the match-up, but just from the set I can tell that Shulk invalidates basically all of Mario's bread-and-butter combos to the point all he can hope for is enough stray hits to kill with U-smash or bair or something, or get Shulk off-stage and guard with FLUDD/cape/2-frames.
