In 1988, the key ingredients of Audi's flagship were four-wheel drive, eight cylinders, and automatic transmission. With this winning combination, then-CEO Ferdinand Piëch ventured into the league of automotive luxury.
Thanks for the video. This car blew my mind when I was a kid. It really got me into cars and Audi's. My Grandparents owned one new in glacier blue. Living in upstate NY it was one of the very few vehicles that got around so well in the snow thanks to quattro with a rear Torsen differential. I own it now, its the most sentimental thing I have. It had survived 25 years up north very well and continues to impress people. It is so nice to drive and ride in. I wish it was a stick shift, but its great as a cruiser with the automatic. It still has the 'UFO' brake rotors. Such a special car.
