Venerable Canda, Thank you for your service to the world, as a person, as a Buddhist and as a Nun. And particularly to the western women who wish to follow in your footsteps. I hope the questions I'm asking are viewed as pertinent and not as irrelevant or invasive. That is not my intention. The talk you give here is very valuable. But leaves me with lots of typically Western questions. And I know there are others wishing to ask the same questions. Being from the states I simply decided to ask. I've heard you say that you traveled a lot and that you were able to go from country to country studying and practicing until finally meeting Ajhan Brahm in Germany. How were you able to accumulate the funding to do so? Having experienced serious health issues, I understand the depth of your challenge simply staying in Burma let alone traveling for ten years until you found a way to accomplish your dream. It reminded me of Ajhan Brahm's experience in Thailand in his early days as a monk. Under such circumstances, there must have been serious financial demands particularly with your health care. How were you able to travel in order to study? Where and how did you work in other countries? If we should not ask for anything as we develop our practice, where and how did you obtain funding for your travels? Please forgive my ignorance but I wanted to do similar things but could never find a way to do so. I have met others who say the same. We are older than you but even 20 years ago your journey was a difficult one, particularly for a woman. Could you give a talk along these lines? Ajhan Brahm has talked a bit about his adventure but I haven't heard the financial specifics addressed anywhere. It's something like a magical mystery tour in the eyes of the worldly unwise and totally ignorant novice. Where does one begin to manage the practical considerations of becoming? Thank you for your pioneering so many things for so very many.
