When you watch one of Sticky's videos and get inspired to learn how to fight, Spends ages growing something and goes after a rex, gets destroyed only to realise that Sticky just makes it look easy
Thats why you take your own fights slow and target only things you feel comfortable fighting at first. Theres always going to be a learning curve, and its better to run away and live another day than waste your dino's life.
@@BitcheRoo737 Psychological warfare plays such an important part of this game, I've become acutely aware of the fact that as an apex, if I run away or act hesitant at the sight of other apexes, I'm basically advertising myself as a non-confident player who will make an easy meal. Now if I'm a lone rex/giga and I encounter a pack of two or more, I don't even bother 2 calling bc that's a dinnerbell - I wait for them to 2 call first and if they don't and get aggressive I defend myself even if I don't feel I have a chance, lmao die fighting and with pride, and come out with more practice to back your skills!
@@InvaderGIR98 Prode in a game especially the isle legacy really is stupid thing, its a broken game where it all depends on the tail riding smaller carnivore, never seen a decent raptor die to a apex.
yeah that was me lol you shoulda called this vid "how not to play rex, starring this noob." im actually super terrible at combat XD i didnt know what to do. it was definitely an eduacating fight tho
That game is not about skill, you just have to be patient and not make dumb mistakes like turning your back on stuff. You gave him your ass way too many times that fight.
@Jonathan Not true, you have to take in account your environment as well, I was rode by a cera before like here but I manage to disengage and kept it close until the Cera made a mistake and I killed it. When you're a Rex is true, you can never under estimate your opponent, you have to be patient and wait for a mistake, for them one mistake is all it takes for a Rex to win. Never give the back to your adversary and look around your area, use your environment to your favor. Hold your stamina as much as you can, the more you waste it the more you reduce your chance of victory. And like Sticky said, don't underestimate your adversary. Noob Rexes do this a lot.
I’ll admit that I like my fair share of playing as Rex. And if I’m on sandbox or even survival I always see cocky rexes and it’s so fun watching them die to a mid-tier like allo or cera.
Yay, a fellow good cerato player, it’s good to see education of how to use it properly , although the key to Cerato is to not bleed it out because it has bad bleed but to just continue biting it because it overall does more damage
While it's true Cera has bad bleed, there's no point putting yourself at risk when bleed would probably finish it. Even if you have a perfect chance to lethal there are things out of your control that Sticky mentioned like lag spikes, miscalculations, etc.
It's so satisfying to see you munch on your kill! I see you kill stuff then the video ends without a feast.... feels unfinished. This video though, this is satisfying.
As a Rex Main on your wonderful server Sticky, I fear smaller dinos more than Apexes. I've taken down many Apexes but I CANNOT deal with smaller dinosaurs, they terrify me, I've almost been clapped TWICE by Utahs.
It is incredible to see how you are so good that you manage to kill a Rex with a sad and unique cera, your tactics are incredible. I watch your videos even though I have bad English and I'm not from the United States. New Sub
When I played Trex the first time, I was cocky too but I learned my lesson. I called around and a group of pachys tryed to kill me. Well, they did but I took 6 with me and another Rex supported them afterwards too.
I do these things and 12 hours later I see a video of you doing the same exact thing. Sub rex vs rex, sub rex vs giga, cerato vs rex. I love coincidence lol thank you for the tips keep up the good work stick utah!
You keep saying the rex is cocky, but how else is it going to kill you before it dies? It can't chase you down if you maintain your distance, so it has no choice but to try to bait you in and hope to get a quick kill. Am I wrong? How should it have handled that situation?
My cockiness always carries over from deathmatch where 99% of the time someone will bite me, I’ll face them and they’ll get cold feet so in my impatience I turn and bait em in only to instantly oneshot em with my leftside hitbox or catch em midair if they try to jump. Doesn’t work if the player is very good but the vast majority of the time, they’re average at best and I’d rather have a quick fight where I take a bite or two rather than a long fight where the dude just stands there, not knowing what to do.
I trust sticky will adapt, he's not good at this game because of the fight mechanics. He's good at this game because he knows how to exploit the fight mechanics. That being said, the isle producers could soon deliver such an excellent combat system in the new version, that there are very few areas to exploit. Thought there will always be something you can exploit, thats just gaming.
If i will ever find a Rex which refuses to use his ambush speed refuses to use left side properly gives you free entry always and doesn’t bite with the entry then I will gladly hunt it…
it takes 34 bites from a Cera to get a rex to max bleed. Not including the heal off in the time it would take to get all those bites. And with each bite doing only 135... you were correct in going back in there is using the cera superior turning to rip the rex booty given your hunger was that low.
One time I rode an allo to death as a cera, it felt so satisfying because of the great turn radius. I'm a pretty bad player I'd say, that's why I felt so amazing because I managed to accomplish something haha.
If the leftside hitbox wouldn't be broken u would be abled to kill an apex with *neatly* erverything! (I mean imagine how nice it would be to stay on the left side of a rexy without getting killed!) Sry my english isn't the best haha xd
I’ve had my rex in Nublar 2 about 4 days now, longest I’ve ever had, and have killed a Utah pack called DOW twice, one with 9/11 and 7/11, there is no body down rule in Nublar, and I solo hunt too, perfect, most of my kills were mainly stalking players and catching them by surprise at night. Nyehehehehee, I hate dilo packs tho ;-; I almost lost old Bessie twice because of it, luckily they were cocky and stayed by my vicinity and kept 1 calling, it basically gave up there position so I ran in blind folded and bit in hoping to kill the roaches, I was successful c:
Can someone tell me how many bites cera needs to kill rex and giga w/ bleed? I main cera and kill apexes quite often my but this info would certainly help
I dont think he's cocky. Most players aren't as good as staying behind their targets as Sticky. I do the baiting all the time as a rex and %99 people just make a mistake ending in a good meal :)
Oof sticky.. I can never pull it off with my cera. I get 8 to 10 bites and in the zone and get cockey everytime and end up getting my tail grabed or turn glitched every time..was riding a giga other night and glitched from its butt to its mouth chomp see ya.
So I see my mistake: I know the fact that the left side is the most dangerous but I tought if I kept only the tail there I was safe but I'm not; so I need to be perpendicular with the right side or targeting the tail
With rex’s turn radius, everythung can kill it which is stupid honestly lmao. I hope they improve the turn radius a bit so that a cera or a f gali wont kill a f rex lmao. I meam both giga and spino are larger and heavier than a rex yet their turn radius is much better lol
Just thinking it may not be the rex is cocky.. I mean I got wrecked by a cera in my rex and it wasn’t because I was cocky it was because I suck and don’t know how to fight lol
