Hey buddy I know what it's like to be depressed and pessimistic about your life and the world, but I also know that you can teach yourself to be optimistic and compassionate about your life, and yourself. I've learned it, and I hope you are able to learn to do it for yourself too. I know it can be done and I know you can do it. We get to be alive just this one time for a short couple decades, and the world already has enough misery in it. It's worth it to try and make our short existence beautiful and happy and worthwhile. It's worth it to try and love yourself, because no one can love you as well as you. I hope you find a way out of your misery buddy, I really hope you find happiness, I love you!

My grandmother just passed away a few days ago after having Alzheimer’s for the last six years... and so I flew in for the funeral. She was my last living grandparent. I’m now here with my parents for the remainder of my visit, having left my husband behind since he couldn’t come. I am in such a sad place mentally right now. This is the third death in my family this year, and I’m hurting. This song, this very version that’s slowed, both soothes the monstrosity of depression in me, while fueling it for rapid fire recalling of memories.

I’m extremely sorry to hear about your loss. Grief is such a complex and emotional feeling but I’m sure the connection you had with them was irreplaceable and precious. While they may no longer with us, the memories are, and those glimpses into the love you guys felt for each other are precious. this song reminds me of my cat the was hit by a car, he was one year old and was too young to go. Everytime I listen to this song, it makes me think about him, and all of the things that we both could have done differently. Every day that void gets deeper and deeper. It's been months and still, it feels like I've lost something that was a big part of me, and in a lot respects I have. Sometimes I wish he was still in my life, but we both screwed each other over and it was for the best. Despite our differences however, I know that I'll still love him forever.

hello. i am here on the 15th of january 2021, in the middle of a third national lockdown. this song was my therapy song throughout the first lockdown and it has so much fear and loneliness attached to it but in a sort of beautiful way. listening to this song again slowed and reverb, amidst the winter depression and isolation from my friends, this hits hard.
