Rey was my childhood hero. I remember crying while he was having his match against Eddie in Summer slam and I didn’t want him to lose his son’s custody.
Very true even if he didnt go to wwe the world would of known of rey mysterio one way or another he would of been successful there was no one like him growing up
If they didn’t give him hall of fame it would’ve giving the wwe owner bad face or whatever, because Rey is an OG at this point and it’s only right, only normal and well deserved to be a hall of fame r
Every time he and cena came on the screen i can't explain how i felt like kid. These were the guys who really got me upset when they lost. Thank you for everything Rey❤️❤️
I love hearing Rey talking about Eddie, he really had a load of love for him. You can tell Rey genuinely loves just talking about Eddie. These guys were some of the best to ever do it.
Rey is such an awesome human being. You can tell even in this interview how he is genuinely interested in Logan and Mike's stories and health. One of the best of all time and definitely the greatest cruiserweight to ever step foot in that ring. No one will ever be like him.
Rey Mysterio is one of them guys that has worldwide love & respect. No matter what country, state, region he goes to, he's loved. That tells you all you need to know about the man. Congrats on the HOF Rey!!
Rey's words of wisdom are one of the most heart touching ways of the real Eddie Guerro massive Respect Rip Eddie you will be one of my favorite wrestlers.
I remember seeing Rey beat Batista to win the Heavyweight champ when I was about 9 years old. As a shorter/skinnier kid growing up, that was such an inspirational moment for me. Thank you Rey!!
Rey Mysterio is one of my childhood hero’s and made me proud to be Mexican and hold true pride to be Mexican 🇲🇽 the man is humble and a legend in every house hood no matter race color or creed almost bursted to tears and full of chills when I found out he was going to the hall of fame 🙏🏼🇲🇽
Eddie and Rey were my all-time favorite wrestlers and not even close. Their feud was so intense as a kid. I remember Id go to WWEs website everyday and one day I went on and the front page was a memorial tribute photo of Eddie and my heart sunk. I love that Rey to this day keeps his name alive. RIP Eddie Guerrero Viva La Raza!!!🔥🔥
Rey sharing his experience with addiction is huge. It takes a real champion to take on the challenge of recovery and sharing it with the world could possibly save someone's life. Kurt Angle was just on Rogan and shared his struggles with opiates. Hats off to anyone trying to fight for their life against addiction. I have a new found respect for Rey. He is a living legend.
Saw WWE live in Glasgow when I was 6/7 in 2006 and had seats on the barrier on the walkway and had the mysterio mask and had rey come head to head with me and say "619". Remember telling all my school friends and felt like I was 10 feet tall after it. What a hero he is!
What a brilliant podcast, big congratulations to both Logan and Rey for renewing his contract with the WWE and Rey being inducted in the Hall Of Fame well deserved and looking forward to see what’s next for the both of you ❤❤
You can tell Logan either did his research specifically for this interview or has really been getting into the lore of the WWE. Either way, it is nice to see.
Logan is actually been doing lot of research not just for this specific episode, he is actually spending time learning from all the WWE greats, watching hours of wrestling to improve his skills in the ring. You can see it in his performance, he is only doing it for an year but already performs like the pros.
Rey Mysterio is my childhood hero. Back in the attitude Era, where all you could see is huge jacked up men wrestling. He was the one who stood out and really made an impact. The amount of times I've hurt myself trying to do 619
The brotherhoods that form in wrestling industry, and I'm talking about the real life stuff not just the in ring business, are unmatched. His love and admiration for Eddie is so real. Rest in peace Eddie Guerrero.
Rey is just awesome. Saw him one time in a european tour and my uncle had a sign with him where he drew Eddie on it. Rey came up and kissed his hand and put it on the sign. We were the only ones that had a Eddie sign there that day. That was also like 3 years after Eddie passed and WWE european tours didn't happen that often, especially where I'm from. We made sure we still remembered Eddie and it was so cool that Rey recognized that too. Eddie was generally beloved, in and out of the ring. He was just so charismatic. That's also why people reacted so heavily when Logan did the shimmy he mentioned. Since Eddie's passing just came out of nowhere and I'm sure everyone would agree, that he had a lot more in the tank, just for his road to tragically end so suddenly is why people react heavily, especially if it's in a mocking way. I mean, even though Logan wasn't mocking Eddie obviously, the fact that he was a heel and doing the shimmy made it look like mocking, which the crowd definitely don't appreaciate that a legend like Eddie is being mocked. Also Eddie was for a lot of people a huge idol and inspiration. Sasha Banks for example had Eddie Guererro style gear made for one of her big PPV matches back then. Even Dominik's/Rhea's "I'm your Mami" Shirt is a referrence to Eddie's "I'm your Papi" shirt for when they did that custody of Dominik match that Rey mentioned. Even though Eddie isn't here anymore, he had and still has a lot of influence to this day.
Rey Rey and Logan would make a cool team. I used to love Rey Mysterio. I still have his action figures, and the action figures where Eddie ripped his mask off. Pretty cool. I met John Cena twice when I was younger but Rey I never got to meet. Cool to see him on here. So wholesome!
Was hoping they would break the 4th wall when talking about Rey and his son. Would love to hear, behind the scenes, how much they really enjoyed getting to share a ring as father and son.
I worked as a manager at Marriott and I met Rey and a few other superstars. Rey was without his mask, but he was down to earth, cool af, and he even gave my wife and I front row tickets. Definitely a standup guy! 🥤
They’ve had Bobby Lashley, Sasha Banks, Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, The Miz, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Matt Riddle, Roman reigns and Cody Rhodes so far, and now Rey Mysterio is added to the list, and also Edge next episode.
Rey Mysterio is a living legend in not only WWE but in life. So inspirational and GOAT Hispanic/Lucha Libre representative. Generations and generations of people have been inspired by this man.
I love how excited Paul gets about wrestling. He is falling in love with this business and he's one of the most exciting stars at this moment. He's a natural.
When rey Mysterio finally won the world heavyweight championship at WrestleMania was one of my best childhood moments. To see him now makes me so happy! Well deserved hall of famer!
This man is still going strong in 2023. Not many from the 90s are going strong now at a high level. Dom loses his hair and begins wearing his own mask. Pitch it to Rey for me Logan
I took a decade off from watching wrestling, just cuz life kept me busy, but coming back into it, i’m so happy new generations are discovering and loving wrestlers like Eddie who have been gone for years! Mysterio, talking about him makes both him and Eddie legends!
Love Rey Mysterio, he's been one of my top idols that I looked up to when I was a kid and I still look up to him to this day. This episode was amazing! it was an absolute joy to learn more about the man behind the mask.
dude rey has been one of my favorites all my life and he was actually my first favorite back when i didn’t really understand wrestling and all that when i was a little kid and he was my favorite i just loved watching him and i’ve always wanted to meet him cause he seems like such a cool guy and he seems like one of those people that you can meet and instantly feel like best friends yk what i mean? he’s just so cool man
I was on pain pills for 13yrs and I'm 22months clean I hit the gym 3 days a week and now I'm 6'2 201 12% body fat my amazing wife put up with me for 7 to 8 years on them but it was the best decision I have ever made in my 38 years on this earth I do not miss it and I do not desire to ever go back to that life
Wow.. I’ve watched a handful of Rey M. interviews and he’s never told that story as he said.. It just goes to show you He’s a fighter inside and outside the ring. 💪🏽 Shoutout to Angie for always holdin it down. 🙌🏽💙 Que Descanses en paz EG 🙌🏽❤️🔥
I would have loved to have more air time for Rey, he is a big influence in my childhood. There is so much more to talk about with him I believe he deserves a second episode!!!!
Man was the biggest wrestling fan when I was younger and my favourites were always Rey and Eddie I was so sad when Eddie passed away. Got goosebumps like 20 times while they were talking about Eddie 😢 he will always be a legend
Always been one of my favourites to watch growing up I’m 32 with a 6 year old son and guess who his favourite wrestler is? Yes it’s Rey, it’s crazy cool how different generations admire him. One thing I’ll say is when your music played at RR my son was so happy and amped for you to come out and then you didn’t I’ve never seen him so heartbroken. And then to watch your entrance at mania 39 and to beat Dom, my son was so happy so thank you! And thanks Logan for having this legend on the podcast.
What Rey said about avoiding visiting Eddie’s grave resonates with me cause I only visited my brothers grave once cause I rather remember him the way he was not when I put him down.
Just putting this comment here for George… Your episode on Roman’s Podcast was something special and very refreshing. I’ve always had lots of respect for you but after that episode, I have even MORE respect for you. I don’t know about anybody else but I needed that fr fr. Y’all definitely touched on a lot of great topics that NEEDED to be talked about. You are definitely wise beyond your years, bro was really dropping gems left & right like crazy, and what ever you do don’t let the internet or industry change who you are my guy. Love seeing my 2 favorite podcasts cross paths. Hands down the best episode of The Roman Atwood Podcast💯👍🏾
Rey is my all time favorite wrestler, i used to get so excited watching any of his matches, so many great matches, i owned the dvd of Rey Mysterio and all of his matches throughout the year, one of my favorite was the custody fight between Rey and Eddie in a ladder match (funny enough they mention it) i have so much immense respect for Rey, an absolute legend and 🐐 of the WWE, seems like such a nice and very humble guy too, i wish i would have been able to meet him as a kid that would have been amazing
Rey was incorrect when he said he hadn't taken his mask off besides the Nash match he had a time period of about a year that he wrestled without his mask
Rey winning the rumble then going on to win the triple threat title match at WM is and will forever be my favourite WWE arc of any wrestler. Straight goosebumps thinking about it
Ngl I’m not a Logan Paul fan but he definitely revived the WWE a little bit by all the coverage he is giving it. I used to watch wwe so much back in 2006-2009
Started tearing up when they talked about Eddie. When Eddie won the title, when he got to celebrate with Benoit...Eddie is still so missed. Viva la raza! RIP Eddie!
Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton have been my guys ever since I started watching WWE in the early 2000’s. Orton is THE GOAT imo. Once he returns you guys have to get him on the podcast.
Just saw the heel bethween Eddie and Rey. I got to say Reys voice changed a lot from back then. After Eddies death, i needed another favorite wrestler and the choice was easy. Chris Benoit was my second favorite. But after his death i quit wwe. Didn't want anyone to lose his favourite wrestler because of me. Thought i was cursed. Yeah but man Reys Voice has changed. I hear it in my ear " You are maaaa Familiaaaaaaa" only way higher. Time flies by. 18 Years have passed and i still keep Eddie deep in my heart. He is right next to Chester Bennington.
Rey is so cool. At WM25 2009 he was at Axxess when I saw him with my wife and son. We asked if we could get a picture and the security said sure but stay that side of the table. Rey said these folks have come from England to see me and came around the table hugged us and let us have pics together. Top Guy!
This is a very fun interview. Loved it. 👍 Rey is my all time favorite and he helped me in ways I can’t even describe just by wrestling on TV... It showed me as a guy with Full Blown Autism can become somebody in life... Rey was a small guy in the land of giants and succeeded... That’s why I’m grateful for watching him.
