He should work on his pronunciation though. :D Slowly reading aloud could be useful for this if you take special care to articulate correctly. And this is a young man that reeaally knows how to learn methodically and deliberately. :D
Serral's eyes show nothing but death. And maybe a want for Monster Energy Drink. Or maybe a Slim Jim. Who knows, but death is definitely one of the things glinting there in Serral's eyes.
I'm Russian, I think it's natural for us to be afraid of Fins. They are like Russians but quieter and scarier. Serral's facial expression is like finish sniper shooting at clueless soldiers. Cold, calculating, analytical, brutal but most importantly completely without mercy.
This is such impressive skill. Both players showing great control and strategy, but i think Serral's positional play and macro reactions/counters is just stronger. And like the casters said, i don't even think of this as typical ZvZ, the way they play is against each other is different than how others do ZvZ to the point where it almost looks like a different race matchup.
Serral won 7 times in 2018, but only 3 times so far in 2019 and there is only one big comp left. Serral actually hasn't been as dominant in this year. My guess is that if he has to face at least 3 high level Koreans, he will lose to one and won't win the comp. I don't expect Reynor to win. The Koreans won every WCS global finals until 2018 when Serral won it. I think they are going to come in ready this time in 2019 and beat him, after all the Koreans in 2019 have already managed to beat Serral quite a few times. This year SoO beat Serral, Innovation beat Serral and Stats beat Serral as well. That all being said, even if the Korean players believe they have learned how to beat him, I still think Serral has a very realistic chance of winning the WCS global finals next month. But it won't shock me if a Korean wins. This makes the game more interesting, than seeing Korean vs Korean, at least Serral as a non Korean truly is a challenge for them and is a struggle for them to beat and Serral at the end of 2018 was easily the best starcraft player in the world, he may still be the best in 2019 as well, if he wins the tournament next month then I would say he is still the best in the world. If a Korean beats him then I would say he is no longer the best in the world.
@@lordofthebeltsthereturnoft1127 Serral dominated the Koreans in GSL vs the World this year, which is basically the same thing. I don't see how you could predict he'll lose to any of them when recently he hasn't even been threatened by them. He beat TY 3:1, Trap 3:1, Classic 3:1, and ironically, Elazer in the final 4:2, and Elazer made it to the final by playing out of his mind and wrecking multiple top Korean players. I'm not saying Serral can't lose, but he's definitely _favored_ against anyone in the world.
Reynor fell to the pressure, that's for sure. Serral wouldn't lose a single game, lost to few mistakes or maybe jusy "luck" on the other side. No matter what, Serral is a beast. All hail the king!
many complaining Zerg are OP, while at the same time not ever willing to credit Serral's skill level, achievements/matchups and consider the Korean scene.
Yeah that's the thing. If Serral had decided to choose any other race when he first started playing the game, he would still be #1 today. The guy is just an insane combination of speed, intelligence, and skill. The faction he plays as is almost irrelevant when you talk about balance because he's such a freak of nature.
Zerg late game is an issue though. Neither Protoss nor Terran want to go late against Zerg. Blizzshould nerf Zerg late game and maybe buff the early game a bit if needed.
@@KrossFire330 You somehow forgot to add good old hard work + big-time deliberate learning + persistence. You cheapen his amazing achievements by making it as if it was just some gift of nature, "talent". Maybe read/listen to "Talent is Overrated" by Geoff Colvin.
Is it just me or was Serral playing the player instead of the match-up after the first game? It seemed to be a similar early-midgame all-in that Serral did the last several maps. Is that something Reynor has shown any weakness to in the past?
Serral is more reactive and passive imo. The few games I see, he usually plays passive and reactive to get economical advantage and often takes the game late.
He hasn't had enough matches yet to determine that. He versed Dark 2 year ago and lost to Dark, he hasn't versed Rogue, he hasn't versed SoO etc. Reynor needs to get matched up against these guys and beat them and beat Dark in a rematch to be considered the second best Zerg in the world. But because he hasn't faced these guys in high level comp and is still in the early phase of his career, I wouldn't say that we can call him the second best Zerg. But you see with Serral we can call him the best Zerg, because he has defeated all of the Korean Zergs in high level competition.
"Look at flesh, see only potential. Strands, sequences, twisting, separating, joining. See how it could be better. Eat flesh, splinter bone. Inside me, can touch it. Weave it. Spin it. Make it great."
I don't think one player being really good with one race is ever going to convince starcraft that the race is OP. They only consider a race OP if a large amount of users are winning with them. Basically it means that if the top 5-6 players were all using Zerg, then they would seriously consider that it may be OP and they would make a patch to slightly nerf it. Remember every time there is a super dominant player, the fans watching start claiming the race they are using must be OP. I saw hundreds of users say Terran is OP when Maru schools people using that race. In the 17 premier tournaments of 2017, Zerg only won 4 times. Zerg has been dominant lately though, but it isn't because Zerg became better. It's because Serral and Reynor use Zerg and are new top players.
@@lordofthebeltsthereturnoft1127 I'm aware of all this. Hence making a joke of turning it into a drinking game ... There's no way everyone is going to be satisfied. I also understand why they nerf the races the top players are winning with too ... Say Serral keeps playing like this for another ... 3 - 4 years ... Its bad for business if zerg constantly come out on top. Sure, its not fair on the player, and certainly not fair on any other zerg players who have to suffer for it, but its good for business if its a mixture of races that come out on top. After all, yeah it was terran on top a couple of years back, but I'm pretty sure they nerfed the reaper just after Blizzcon because of it too.
I think this could have been a perfect tournament for Serral but bringing those queens and fighting right before +1 was uncharacteristically over-aggressive. An incredible series all the same. Can't wait for Blizzcon.
What's up with the awful sounds like the ones soccer spectators make on the stadium from time to time during the video? It seems to be added in all videos from this tournament! Like this: 1:00:02 35:28 39:18
Reynor has taken a few very big tournaments from Serral and Serral himself has some very high words for him. They're not quite the same in terms of consistency and strength, but I'd say that the Zerg King (Serral) isn't too bored with the little Zerg Prince (Renyor) running around.
Serral already lost 3 times to Koreans this year and he also has lost to Reynor as well this year. Sorry but pretending that 2019 has been like Serral's 2018 just isn't going to cut it. He has done a lot worse this year than last. Either he has become lazy and worse, or people have figured out strategies against him after looking at his games. There is only one major tournament left this year and Serral has only won 3 tournaments, but in 2018 he won 7 tournaments and no one could touch him, he just burst onto the scene pwning everyone basically. But it isn't exactly like that now, now he is struggling more.
Nathanias is the definition of a basement dweller that doesn't know any life outside the internet. He's like 35 years old and thinks constantly spewing memes will make him a cool kid.
@@gregbach9581 How is he a basement dweller that lives on the internet if he is working as an e-sports commentator at these large events? I don't think you understand the definition of a basement dweller. Here I will explain to you the definition of a basement dweller, it's someone who lives in their mothers basement on the internet and virtually has no friends or a job. Sorry but Nathanias doesn't fit any of that. I think maybe you are a basement dweller who is projecting?
Indeed, there isn't any player outside of Korea that puts up a match against him. It would be so much funnier if he was at Code S then in this WCS b-league.
Next is the big tournament with the 700,000 dollar prize pool. I wonder if Serral will be able to win it. I think the Koreans are going to come in hard on that one, and Serral hasn't been as dominant this year as last year. For example Serral won 7 tournaments last year, but so far he has only won 3 tournaments this year and there is only 1 left. I get a weird feeling that he will lose to a Korean in this upcoming WCS global finals.
I think it was Dark. Serral beat Dark’s Corruptors because of speed and good use of quicker health regeneration even though corruptors are far tankier.
I just came here to rewatch Serral own Reynor like he should have the last time... Satisfied, will watch again later. And like always.... Serral would have won.
Wan Anewcom the number of lings he scouted made him think he was being all-inned. He canceled the upgrade likely for an extra queen or extra lings to defend.
People whine that zerg is op, yet all the statistics say they're far from op, serral and reynor are amazingly skilled players, for example he smashed neeb due to his own mental faults not because protoss sucks 😐
@@Oyashio202 zerg stomps everything especially Serral, watch GSL, I watch it but if there were Serral and Reynor we would've had a ZvZ final again and again, that's because zerg is the most unbalanced and most op race from the 3 races
@@da_huska That's incorrect. Serral is just so good of a player that he makes Zerg feel OP. You'll get the same feeling when a player on Serral level plays another race. He made Reynor look like a joke and he on a league of his own too.
Yeah yeah do you say the same thing when neeb wins consecutive tournaments? Or when Maru sweeps all of Korea year after year? No. Your sarcastic opinion has almost no validity here.
