Prof Mesfin was a rare intellect and personality. He is a symbol of courage and determination. He challenged authority from King Haile Sellase to PM Abiy Ahmed. He loved Ethiopia and the people. And he proved that in his long life until his last breath. A giant has fallen. RIP!
With his passing, Ethiopia has lost a legend who did so much, made epic contribution to a better future 🙏throughout his life, he exhibited courage, truth and utter conviction that basic human rights and equality should define any society. He had been a voice to the voiceless throughout his entire life. Prof Mesfin, you will be remembered for years to come🙏🙏 Thank you Teddy and Dere for paying respect to the giant intellectual, devoted Ethiopianist . May his soul rest in peace 🙏🙏
Our condolences to their families. One of the concern, we can't forget about Professor Mesfin is, he was the most privileged man during the same genoceist butcher in Zimbabwe, supporter and privileged adviser to the animal, while many Ethiopians were being killed, tortured, the country being destroyed, to the extent of dehumanising the Ethiopian society. He was living a comfortable life. If this isn't true happy to accept criticism. He didn't make any noise. His awakening came, when he lost all hope of replacing the butcher. It is good he was trying to do something during the woyanee genociest group. We need to look at personalities objectively. Tomorrow, Ethiopians may start making the Meson, Eprp, shabia, and all these shallow , power greedy political characters as intelligent change-makers for Ethiopia. We Ethiopians we have a long way to learn our setbacks, and start with a new mind and sense of responsibility. Let us stop being confused by foreign political philosophy, but let us find a sound governing system based on our history, multi-culture, multi-religion, multilingual one country and civilised human characteristics base governing system. Victory for Ethiopians and Ethiopia.
Ethiopia has lost of its beloved son one who is a great scholar, states man, human rights fighter and above all a prolific writer. May his soul rest in peace.
@Abel 🙏🙏 a little advice, if a conversation or a debate is beyond what you can comprehend, then you should do independent research and upgrade your knowledge. Perhaps Dr Dereje’s comment is out of your depth. If you go on RU-vid and see all other interviews, you would know you are actually listening to a proper academicians!
@Yoseph Nigatu 🙏🙏 are we not allowed to feel sad about the death of someone who we deeply respect? Having compassion and empathy is a sigh of being a healthy human being. You should try it 🙏❣️
