We are so pumped to share this REVIEW of the 28-70mm... a new RF lens by Canon.
We purchased this in February 2021 and it shipped in July! Holy Moly!
But we've been able to use it for about 5 weddings and let me tell you, it's GAME CHANGING!
Fast Focus, a little heavier, minimum aperture of 2.0... it's a beast!

Put a Canon grip on your R5- it will distribute the weight better and you won't notice it so much; it's also more convenient for vertical shots and you won't have to change batteries so much...

Thanks so much! When I shot with the Mark IV I loved the battery grip and I've debated adding it to the R5 to help with battery life!

@@LivingRadiantPhotography The grip definitely helps a lot. I also shoot a ton of weddings and events and have only changed batteries once on all day events. The other great reason to shoot with a grip is the added buttons when shooting vertically. The 28-7

@@pianofinger Agreed, the grip is so nice. I actually did burn through a set of batteries in the grip in about 5 hours, so ran out during the post ceremony couple shots. May have to check my power saving settings. I just rented the 28-70 for a wedding and it was not problem holding 8+ hours with on camera flash...so my 28-70 arrives Monday! Woo hoo.

Awesome video! Recently got my RF 28-70 and I also LOVE IT! I had to the RF 24-70, but I sold it and got this one and I have no regrets! Yes, it is heavy, but with the battery grip it isn’t too bad! I also use a Peak Design clutch which also helps! Hated waiting for the lens too! Had to wait 4 months…. Longest of my life! 🤣

3:51 Sorry internal zoom means that the barrel doesn't extend, since it does extend its called an "external zoom."

Mine arrived yesterday! I paid for it by returning my RF 24-70 F2.8 L and RF 50 F1.2 L. No complaints! It's cheaper and weighs less than the two combined, that I returned. Boom!

Do you believe the 28-70 f2 can replace the prime 50mm 1.2?

My first 3 jobs I noticed the weight. I no longer notice it.

Undoubtedly a great lens but too expensive for amateurs. I'm glad I can still use the 35,50 and 85 mm 1.4 lenses on my new R6 with an adaptor. I never spent more than 2000 € on a camera or lens.

What filter do you have on that thing? It looks almost as huge at the lens? I always splurge and get the breakthrough photography X4 UV filters to protect the lens. I'm curious if its a lower cost UV filter have you ever done a comparison with it off and on the lens same subject? With the X4's I haven't been able to tell an image quality difference with it on or off...

Love this video, thank you so much! Is it possible to put an flash on the camera or is it to heavy to lift then? I would love to own this camera and are on a waiting list. Are the money maker the best option for this camera even if I only have one camera? Thinking if a belt around my waist would be good? Thank you 🌹

Hi Anna! I just it for sure with a flash, especially during wedding reception. It's awesome. Just take breaks!

Nice video, although just a suggestion, I can hear the autofocus motor clicking in your audio. If you're doing a sit down like this, no reason not to just lock off focus and put it on manual. Or get one of those rode lapel mics you can just plug into the mic port so you don't get all the room tone and clicky click AF motors. ;)

Can you compare quick in few words 2870vs50. I know bokeh is not beer than 50f1.2 but how close does it get? Can it handle low light sinarios

Hi Angel! Sorry I missed this! The RF 50 1.2 is amazing. It's my power lens. I actually dual shoot and use both lenses majority throughout the wedding day. I LOVE the 50RF in low light... I push the boundaries every wedding!

@@LivingRadiantPhotography thank you for comment but I’m more interested in the 28-70. Can you give your opinion on bokeh etc. from the perspective of the 28-70 please?
@Seitenwerk
@Seitenwerk 2 года назад
@@angellondian7628 Of course the bokeh will be better on the 50mm, but the thing is, bokeh is always situation dependent. Meaning that just going one step closer to our subject increases the bokeh in the background etc, so with situations always changing you probably won't notice the difference. But what you will notice is the flexibility of the RF28-70 lens. Compared to the prime you can create X amount of different shots/looks in a single situation you wouldn't be able with the prime. And with f2.0 and a prime image quality level this thing will probably stay on your camera forever ^^ (like it does for me, and I also own the RF85mm DS and the RF70-200 f2.8). Its heavy, but once using it for a bit you are getting used to it

What is that filter? And why you chose that filter for your 28-70mm f/2?
