Due to the Crane mainly operating port, there is a forth RAS rig astern, I assume Tidesurge can tow the ship being replenished, as RFA's could in my day.
The new Tide class are built to support the new carriers. The carriers have two fuel receiving bays on their Port side and one on the starboard side. The usual RAS manoeuvre has the carrier steaming along and the RFA approaches on her Port side. Therefore no need for an additional rig Port Side forward, on the Tidesurge
