Beautiful circuitry.

Ça me donne presque envie d'essayer de construire une radio RF pour comprendre comment les ondes fonctionnent... Vraiment un beau morceau esthétiquement, ça l'air presque simple en plus... C'est juste très joli à l'intérieur par contre comparativement aux petits blocs noirs sur fond vert qui sont si communs aujourd'hui... Probablement le circuit le plus coloré que j'ai jamais vu! Très attrayant! 🙂

I think back then the 2N2218 transistor and the Toyocom crystal filter were under embargo and export into the zone behind the iron curtain was not allowerd. Interesting that they got hold of them anyway.

I have a question. The current Varta CP300H 9.6v NiMh battery (2 needed for this radio) are too long, the battery cap won't fit. Did you find a good replacement battery? Second question, the cap has a "+" emblem on it, so do I assume you insert the batteries with the positive terminal towards the back of radio, and the cap comes down on top of positive?Thank you!
