Everyone needs a break sometimes, glad you are back. It's cool to see those modules, the look like they were hand soldered. Thanks for the peek inside.

Soviet railways personnel also used these nice GDR-made transcievers. Slightly before 1980 Moscow Olympic Games they appeared on Moscow sorting railway stations.

I was born into the late GDR. Got blurry memories seeing Volkspolizei with those radios. The GDR made everything, up to computers, seeing the depth of production, and the effort they put in, is always astonishing. But they were decades behind. These little glass and ceramics chips are technology from the 60s. It's a bridge technology from discrete electronics to integrated technology. These little squares were supposed to be stacked, and soldered at the edges. That way, it is possible to make standard components, stack them, making a compact and tough component. It's military technology, of course. I've seen a US military documentation about this.

Definitely cool little rigs... perfect for 6-meter ham radio use.

Old radio stuff does look cool. I am over due on doing a teardown. Kind of a problem you have when you have already taken everything you own apart.

You always produce interesting videos, thank you. Personally, I don't mind gaps between videos - preferring quality over quantity and for you, making them too frequently can become a chore rather than a pleasure. eBay can also be a fickle friend :) Keep safe, Beamer.
