Glad to have gotten a ride with this engineer on the T as he has moved on in his railroading career. I wish him well in his endeavors. (As an important disclaimer, I wouldn’t recommend doing these type of rides and talking to the engineer. It can be distracting. He didn’t object but, needless to say, I won’t do this again!! )

Thanks for the up-front ride video! This is one of the Commuter lines I ride often, and it serves one of my previous towns of Holbrook. Ive also seen out the RFW on that same line and on the Kingston and Providence Lines

Nice Ride. I'm looking forward to riding this line a lot when they finally open the New Bedford extension. Then the long wait (65 years!) and many delays will be forgiven.

Also enjoyed all your videos of San Francisco caltrains. Down here in Orlando we have a commuter rail called SunRail they look a lot like the MP36s I think their MP32s I was reading about them they were actually converted freight locomotives from Marc. Look up types of locomotives for SunRail

Can I ask why you made the switch? I heard from some guys in the yard of people who went from Amtrak to Keolis. Also, did they make you go to Delaware even though you were already certified?

@@acelakid94 Hey man so to answer your questions, I made the Switch because believe it or not I lived all the way in CT at the time Keolis was the only railroad that hired me on as an Assistant Condcutor so I took the opportunity, at the same time I drove two hours (4 in total) to and from work everyday with Keolis as I lived in CT. So the last few months amtrak hired me and I made the switch for the better I now am out of the new york crew base. and to answer your second question Yes I still did go to Delaware but I am not certified not as an AC cause your just an AC, but as a Conductor you need to be Certified and qualified for whichever territory or segment you train on that's a whole different story. in my personal opinion I was very lucky to start off passenger and end with a better passenger agency ass opposed to doing freight than doing passenger but everyone starts off somewhere haha.

@@JoseRamirez-mg4pn Holy crap, that’s a hell of a commute! Good for you for finding a different gig and avoiding the freight companies. I’m in mechanical at Amtrak trying to make my way over to transportation. How do you like the AC job?

The oldest Red Line cars are the # 01500 and # 01600 series built by Pullman Standard in Chicago the # 01700 series were built by UDTC of Canada the # 01800 series were built by Bombardier of Canada which brought the UDTC of Canada the # 01900 are the newest cars they were built by CRRC of China
@RobertPaniagua

Yes, and ironically enough, as this train was rolling through the Red Line ROW, there were nothing but 01800s which were made fom 1992-94, 015/01600s made in 1969-71 and the 01700s made from 1986 through 1988 and the CRRC 01900s started construction in 2019 and still ongoing

Tim, I wouldn't talk to the engineer while the train is moving, wHEN i WAS AN ENGINEER ON THE muS i NEVER HAD ANYBODY INCLUDING MY BOSS THE RFof E TALK TO ME WHILE I WAS MOVING..You may be held responsible with the engineer if something happens especially a crossing accident or a station accident I am a retired Road foreman of Engines on one of the roads you travel on. On an accident that I investigated, passengers were brough in to the trial and the engineer was given 90 days on the street and the company paid a price for the accident. I reminded you a year or so before. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU DO, YOU COULD PAY A PRICE FOR THIS.....
