To be fair, it does get replaced by the Loto in the UC 90's all the way to UC123(albeit as a reactivated museum piece) which is an upgrade imo plus it can transform.
The Guntank is probably the least practical out of all the Project V machines. With mobile suit legs being more agile on land rather than tank treads, it would be more practical to have a mobile suit be used in land combat over tanks and other similar machines.
@@GrandAdmiralBatuKhan yeah it's only practical for Earth use, but it's very useless in space which is where most of the battle is done to fight against zeon, it makes sense why it gets shelved in favor for like the gun cannon or a GM cannon since a tank in space is about as useful as a tank underwater which is not that useful, unless of course it's the Loto where it has legs and has more weaponries and capabilities not to mention slightly smaller than the huge target that is the gun tank, even zeon were converting gigan wheels with boosters because in space maneuverability matters especially when there is less to none of cover or terrain. And I haven't even begun going over parts compatibility, it would be a logistical nightmare and a mechanics nightmare to not only repair mobile suits but a huge tank as well with no compatible parts, at least with the GM, gun cannon, and the gundam they had interchangeable parts with each other, the only part that's interchangeable with the guntank is the core fighter and the torso.
@@traphimawari7760 but however, in the original 1979 TV Series, the GUNTANK CAN FLY IN SPACE! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. at least the movie trilogy onwards fixes this by replacing it with a second Guncannon
@@YiminyCricket I doubt it's as good at flying as it is in driving though compared to a gun cannon, the only space maneuverable part about it is the core fighter, if they have a space equipment for the guntank that replaces its lower torse with booster legs, I think it could work but it still doesn't change the fact that it's a bigger target plus again the parts compatibility issue is still an issue. I think it's right that it gets replaced by the smaller and more manageable d50 Loto, let great grand daddy gun cannon sleep let the new generation step in.
It is sad to me that the GunCannon and its variants have been discontinued by the Federation. I remember even seeing official art featuring Jegan Cannons that were never used. I confess that I always had a lot of affection for the more robust version of the Gundam, which didn't always have the means to show its values. In Unicorn, I remember seeing the GunCannon DT only being taken down by 3 Zeeks, as it was so resistant to their attacks.
So are you gonna do other AU suits? consdering you've already done a few of the grunts from Seed. It'd be neat to see a compilation of the Daughtress and Leo from X and Wing respectively. Gundam X has almost no presence on RU-vid.
@@themrfives This type of mentality was endorsed, encouraged, and justified, following Operation Stardust perpetrated by the De Laz Fleet and their primadonna Solomon henchman, Anavel Gato. The only difference between the Zeeks and the Titans is that the Titans' uniforms were prettier.
