its probably because its an early production probably uses some luna titanium rather than its next production models which used the inferior ceramic titanium, also it was mentioned that they were just about to mass produce it thus they were trying to steal some for Zeon to reverse engineer or know its weakness, its either that or I'm guessing this GM model is based after the gundam EX rather than the RX-78. Still its pretty freaking cool.
Sadly they still needed to make it a total space nazi wank. Only on-screen kill any non-Gundam makes is a GM stolen by a nazi mechanic who shoots another without a pilot in it. Even the gundam lays down its arms in the end and is then stabbed in the back, killing the pilot. Which makes the main protagonist so sad she decides to not lay down her arms and instead join a zeon remnant to fight the allies because they, like the actual nazis, make kids fight.
@@carlzerris6566 The GM Command's version was basically the expensive and much better upgrade, if only the Federation put that one into production instead. But at the same time, it'd have been overkill most times
It might not have long range, and the damage area of each shot might be a relatively narrow line, but it's going to ignore your armor almost entirely. Apparently unless that armor is a Magella tank tread for some reason.
Honestly, she saved basically all the Zeon forces by letting that GM pilot get away. Trust me, the last thing they needed was a Gundam pilot going on their revenge arc.
The first GM is actually treated as a GM should be treated! Not made of paper fucking thin armor and then not combusting after being shot in the shoulder!
@@hibemabygaming4316 tbf, the mass production vanilla GM's armor really can't withstand most MS weapons. Only the early versions of the GMs got luna titanium armor due the Feddies using them on the other Project V suits
@@hibemabygaming4316 Can't say I'd blame animators for that. Cheaper and less time consuming to erase the thing rather than having to draw it still there
I think it does have a relation to the EX, it even has the same triple beam saber rack, plus the design alone looks eerily similar to the EX rather than the RX.
@@FederationMS787 honestly, I can see this GM as a dumbed down version of the GM early type before being dumbed down further into the GM type a/b. But as it stands, this version of the GM is just a redesign of the original GM like how the GM type c was before being canonized as a GM variant instead of a redesign
Finally, a GM that doesn't explode on sight. Might be one of the best representations of the original GM, even if it's designed slightly differently for this show.
"one of the best representations" my brother in christ that thing is plot armored out the ass, mfer tanks a zaku cannon shell and like 5 minutes of zaku machine gun fire to the cockpit area... AND THE PILOT GETS OUT UNSCATHED
@@commiegundam9066Meanwhile in Unicorn, while the GM II was outdated, it could still have a fighting chance at way more outdated OYW era suits used by the Zeon remnants, yet many of them got sliced as smooth butter. I think it's time for the GM to have a taste of plot armor for once.
@@GrandAdmiralBatuKhan the GM II was outdated by Unicorn bc it was outdated when it was introduced way back in Zeta, GM IIs are slightly upgraded originals, of course they were outmatched 9 times out of 10 unless it was OYW stuff
That one GM in the scrapyard battle was more of a liability to the Gundam EX. The Gundam EX had no trouble taking out 8 Zaku II, Zaku tanks, tanks, and Dopps on its own before. As soon as the GM was exposed to a bit of danger, he retreated. Maybe the Gundam pilot told him to do so, but he did it like a newbie. He was getting gunned down as he ran across the forest, with zero effort to avoid or defend for a while. Might as well shoot back sooner and use those beam sabers. Either the Gundam EX should've gone in alone, or they should've brought at least one more GM or support vehicles.
I like the show cause it actually shows the horror of a normal soldier on the ground facing off against a giant machine than can literally squash out of existence
I've read comments on how the gundam EX's eyes looks weird, but i kinda liked them. They're almost...... expressive with the "narrowing" of the eye to show the pilot's emotions. Works as a plot device.
Cool to see the Gundam unit actively working in tandem and defending the GM with its more durable armor. In a lot of the series the Ace suits seem to do their own thing while the grunts battle it out on their own.
If it wasnt for the ending to being really dumb this was a really good show and surprisingly the GM's don't magically explode in the presenceof named character zakus.
@@Beachhead13If the kit is released as a P(remium) Bandai kit, the stock of available kits will be very low and people (and scalpers) will be fighting to order at least one.
That GM would be me in GBO2 cuz I would use that level 5 GM in 300 cost with all Ballistic defenses including some the gacha-related parts that increases that defense by 10-15% further. And yes, I do intend to play like a tank anytime I use it.
@phantomzero2413 It is a free to play game... So it would be a question of investing time into the game or not: Pros: > Despite a gacha existing, it is quite f2p friendly mostly. Ranging from doing dailies & saving tokens to deciding which part of the banner to pull from. 3 tokens per day, 30 tokens for a multi from normal banners (bonus drop rate) and 15 tokens from discount multi (usually from step-up banners, no drop rates in the first few steps). > Some level of customizing, but not to the level of the new Gundam game (Gundam Breaker?). > Has co-op/singleplayer content, but debatable on how good it is as the game focuses on PvP. Gives 3 tokens on refresh (unknown refresh rate). > Has custom games, has a lot of fun potential, but Bandai is probably too afraid. > There are often limited time missions that give strong mobile suits. > Effectiveness on the mobile suit is based on the pilot's skills. > Can exit Mobile Suits to fly around as a pilot with jetpack. This feature is quite fun in a custom match if everyone agrees to duke it out on a pecticular map spot third-person shooter Call of Duty style. > Devs tend to give everyone who logs in rewards at random. Garenteed if on Anniversary (right now). > Code Fairy singleplayer experience. Basically, it's like Halo Campaign with GBO2 gameplay. Only on console sadly. > Crate drops occur at end of match, but gives decent rewards in due time. Expected (Neither pro or con): > Closest game to a multiplayer Realistic Mecha game aside Gundam Evolution. > Movement is "clunky" but is expected in most Realistic Mecha games. > Game takes time to learn and play. May take at most 2 weeks to learn basics proficiently. 1 to 2 months to learn advanced techniques ground combat. May take even longer to learn similar teamplay found in Overwatch 2 (either combat) and advanced techniques in space combat. > Has Ground and Space combat. > Expect to be stomped if new, a lot. > Pilot combat. Every pilot has the same loadout. > Badge system where getting Platinum Badge by doing enough monthly mission will unlock a login reward section to give a Mobile suit with rarity tied to how long ago since the start of the month (early = 4 star, middle of month = 3 star, late in the month = 2 star). > Crate system gives mobile suits, custom parts, tokens (summon currency), dp (currency for trade or upgrading), recycle tickets (good to get certain mobile suits that seem out of reach). However, you have to farm hard or be extremely lucky to get a drop unless a drop rate campaign is ongoing. > Rating system exists. Higher rating = more EXP and currency. Cons: > Only real p2w aspect is the custom parts as some buff mobile suits generally. However, it is not beyond busted as skill level is heavily tied to performance aside teamplay in A rank or higher. > Co-op and Custom matches have HUGE potential, but not yet realized. > May require a good laptop or PC to play it at 30-60 fps. > Requires solid internet connection or an ethernet cable. > Badge system favors p2w unless you plan extremely far ahead with saving the tokens and farm hard for easy to achieve missions to get bronze/silver/gold badges for more crate drops. Why current review exist?: Those exist during the opening of GBO2 back when it was new. It had pretty terrible internet connection issues back then, now it is mostly resolved. What is happening right now?: Nu Gundam and Sazabi are given out as a gift from devs among multiple rewards. Limited missions exist to give exclusive mobile suits only rewarded though those missions. Gl and hf!
@phantomzero2413 pretty sure I made a reply, but I think something occurred that prevented me from successfully posting the reply. The Reply: Ultimately, it depends if you want to invest time into GBO2 as the game is an F2P Realistic Mecha tactical shooter. Pros: > Skill is what ultimately determines who is the better pilot regardless of p2w options. > F2P friendly with daily 3 tokens and multi on normal banner with feature rates up usually is 30 tokens while stepup is either discount (15) but no rate up until later steps. > Other gamemodes like Custom, Co-op, and ranked (different from Rating battle). > Getting rating up increases game currency (DP) and military rank exp (aka progression to get other mobile suits in DP shop). > Custom parts, Weapon, and Paint customization. Although not as indepth as Gundam Breaker. > Most of the time, Devs gift stuff to players, limited missions to get certain mobile suits become available to earn, and it is garenteed to occur on anniversary or events. > Clan system for community & tokens. > Custom match be fun sometimes. Especially if you go all pilots on a specific area on the map to duke it out third person shooter call of duty/uncharted 3 style. Expectations: > Realistic Mecha means movement won't feel as smooth for obvious reasons, but it is easy to get a hang of. > Learning the basic combat may take around 2 weeks while months to be good at advanced techniques and longer to learn gamesense. > Skill can allow one to rise the ranks up to A rating, but requires gamesense to get to S rating. > Expect to be stomped. > Explore the military base & talk to NPCs to be familiar to the area. It is a small area. > Pilot mode basically has you fly on a jetpack if not in a Mobile suit/tank/vehicle. Cons: > Only real P2W aspect is the gacha custom parts as it makes the 700 cost mobile suits be extra dangerous. Still beatable tho. > Coop & Custom have a lot of untapped potential but not sure why it is not expanded on. > Rewards from Coop refresh very rarely. > Must have a solid internet connection or ethernet cable. PC specs have to be average or better. You may be better off getting a PS4/PS5 to play it. > Code Fairy (standalone singleplayer that uses GBO2 mechanics) is only playable on PS4/PS5. > Badge system favors P2W players unless you prepare extensively on tokens and farm for crate drops daily to increase the badges. Why old reviews like that? Cuz when it opened, the connection to server was terrible. The optimization is valid tho since sometimes fps lag is sometimes near unavoidable... However, the fps issue can be resolved with a better gaming laptop/pc.
The mobile suits’ toughness and lumbering gaits (compared to their usual portrayal in anime) make them seem more like Battlemechs. They actually appear to have weight here (although, admittedly, not consistently in every scene). I like this grittier and more grounded depiction of the machines (in the anime, they have a much more fluid, human-like agility).
I absolutely love the echoing stomps from the suits in this show. A pleasant constant reminder that these things are terrifyingly huge to someone on foot
Contrary to the franchise’s usual stereotype, the GM is built pretty tough and can take a few licks in spite of being a grunt MS. It’s just not as much higher in terms of quality like a Zaku normally is
Actually 🤓 Original GM is considered to be quite decent is just the OG anime keep making them like red shirts,in mangas, games, even Gihren's Greed they are very formidable.
Most GMs are made with better materials. It's only when they have to mass produce it that they cut cost for better mass production. Units like the GM used bits of Luna Titanium for the first batch but when it came to finally mass produce for mass deployment, they cut cost so to composite metal for faste production and cheaper cost
I haven't seen the show so I can't comment on the story or the characters, but I love the fight scenes. Every fight is a duel. Haven't seen the MS move like they're actual behemoths in a long time
I like how at the very end they make sure to let you know that right after these events the GM went right back to being useless again and dying in one short burst of zeon gunfire.
Reminder that the event of RoV took place at the North West side of Operation Odessa, just opposite of where the white base corp took place in the South East, really makes the Gundam EX even special and somewhat desperate that the EFF is throwing everything at zeon
The GM EX is a newer mobile suite compared to the currently fielded Zakus. The GM EX was probably rated to survive at least a shot or two from beam weapons. These Zakus were not rated for beam weapons because they haven't faced an enemy that uses beam weapons yet.
this is pretty much lore accurate RGM-79 in general or just for the Ground Type GM Ground Type having armor Equal to Gundam Ground Type and they are tanky because they are supposed to render most of Zeon Mobile Suit Weapon less effective. and also fun fact, GM itself is way more effective to absord damage compared to zaku due to Federation choose to use Titanium Composite instead Super Hard Steel used by Zeon.
Can GM even tank that amount of Zaku machine gun at all? I’m pretty sure the zaku machine gun should be able to chew through it let alone a bazooka unless is modifier gm with better plating?
imagine is that MC in X gundam on the Zeon side.... the GM and Gundam prob got capture already bc he used flashbang on the camera n blind the pilots 🤣🤣
Wasn't that bad of show and I've been following the director behind this series. Before there was Astartes part 1- 5 there was Lord Inqiusitor Prologue and you know GW did
Um no that's lore accurate when the gm first came out they were superior than the zaku specs and more armored as well in fact zaku machine gun couldn't even dent a gm
The main downsides in my opinion in this show is that we hear the pilots grunts and struggles in the mobile suit, not like traditional Gundam shows (ex. MS Igloo) where that purposely did not include any of the pilots voices in battle (besides 08th Team)
Must be nice using Early production EFF MS. You get the opportunity to ride something that uses Luna Titanium instead of the downgraded Composite Metal
