@@exile_kzkYes, but in terms of techonlogy, features, and performance, it is inferior. While the GM III is the final, much needed upgrade to the GM line following the GM II,the Jegan was a large step above and was the culmination of all the current knowledge and experince the Federation had with the RGM Series so far. This gave the Jegan a higher performance and a more well balanced loudout combined with high mobility.
I'm glad ZZ is getting more appreciation these days. It got a bad rep from a lack of availability and word of mouth, but now that people outside Japan can actually watch it, more and more are saying "actually, this is pretty good".
The problem with the GM II is that while it was an improvement over the original GM, it was outclassed by other mobile suits being developed at the same time- and even other GM types developed during the One Year War. The GM III was designed to be a better suit in every way to stand up to newer generation mobile suits- it was not only FAR superior to the GM II- but also most of the GM II's replacements like the Hizack and Nemo. Its no wonder it stayed a popular suit even after the introduction of the Jegan series. Heck- in some ways it was better than the Jegan and saw action in the late-UC era even after the introduction of miniature mobile suits like the Heavygun and F90 by PMCs.
@@supergeno128dsGM III got thicker armor while jegan are lighter n faster. Nemo actually comparable to GM III, but it is more expensive to make and using zeon tech.
@@trollinoakenshield9822 Yes the Jegan is lighter and more agile. Faster is debatable. GM III trumps the Jegan in terms of armor (gundarium as opposed to titanium ceramic) and armament (2x beam sabers, Vulcans, missile pods, large missiles as standard armament as opposed to the 1x saber, Vulcan pod and 3 grenades.) Also as much as I love the Nemo I don't see much evidence of it being on par with the GM III as it outperforms the Nemo in nearly every regard.
GM II is originally a stopgap measure before Gryps War happen. EFF choose to upgrade their old original GM when they wait until their true next gen mobile suit development ready to be mass produced. thats why GM II code originally is RGM-79R because all of them are just refurbished OYW GM. well, GM II is actually good mobile suit. it got more powerful reactor, better sensor, and new cockpit. the only weakness of GM II is its slightly slower and less manouverable than a Hizack yet mostly perform identically. but since its only purpose is to be a mobile suit that fills the gap when EFF developing new mass produce mobile suit ... GM II become obsolete when newer mass produce mobile suit such like Hizack Custom that actually a new improved variant of Hizack, Nemo, and Marasai become available.
GM III undoubtly one of the best grunts in neo zeon war era GM III has equal performance with gundam mark II so the performance is actually pretty high as a grunts unit, its cheap since its actually using GM II basic design combined with Gundam Mark II tech so its got modular design that can be easily upgraded in fact i favor GM III over Zaku III since GM III is way more elegant and more refined design, Zaku III is not bad, but the high performance of Zaku III reached by pure brute force so Zaku III in basic configuration is very expensive and difficult to maintain.
