Rhaenyra Targaryen & Daemon Targaryen Fight | House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 2 

I found it very cathartic when Rhaenyra called Daemon pathetic. You know that hearing that from someone he loves, or thinks he loves, hurts him worse than any battle wound.

Phenomenal acting by Emma, she's absolutely killing it as Rhaenyra.

The whole scene! The chemistry! The actors! The dialogues! The costumes! Aaahh 🫶🏻

Through this whole scene, Daemon did not beg for forgiveness or took accountability for his actions. During the counsel, he sat there in silence. And now during the argument, he doesn’t say it was a mistake until he was done blaming the ratcatchers, viserys and then Rhaenyra.

They should listen to Daemon only on matters of actual battle stategies. That is his area. Everywhere else the man is not to be heeded to.

Both actors are amazing in this scene. Emma D'Arcy, in particular, does a wonderful job of conveying anger, grief, disappointment, and physical fear of Daemon.

Man it is so great to have Game of Thrones back to putting on masterful scenes with terrific dialogue.

I really wish we had more scenes with these two alone, they're amazing.

"A son for a son" Then that would imply someone else besides Aemond is acceptable. If the king Aegon is held responsible for Aemond's kill, then one of his sons would be implied. Aemond is the son of Daemon's brother, so he obviously doesn't want revenge against Viserys. So Daemon did flat out put a hit out on the kid. He clearly and knowingly implied it. I think the vagueness is an attempt at plausible deniability.

Rhaenyra is very beautiful when she's cry.

Daemon does see her to be a good ruler for the Iron Throne over the years but now that a war is brewing and ready to burst into flames, Rhaenyra is acting in caution but not enough with a firm grip. And it is making him think she is just like his brother and her father, Viserys. He does not want that for her after all look at Viserys life. A Peaceful Ruler to be sure but a pitiful one at the end of it; not the firm ruler Viserys truly needed to be. I understand why Daemon is not one to fully be trusted. He is the Rogue Prince after all. She knows who she married and she should not be surprised by his actions in any way. And if he wanted the throne, he would have stroke her down many years ago even right on the bridge of Dragonstone in Season 1 episode 2. Rhaenyra is right that Viserys was not afraid of him but Daemon was right that he is the stronger son and no one could control him. That is why the council never liked him or wanted him to be ruler. He was not like Viserys on a short leash to be controlled like a trained pup. Daemon was right about Viserys. Viserys was weak and a puppet with the King’s Council especially Otto Hightower to pull the strings to rule the Seven Kingdoms. Viserys was also ruled by prophecy and trying so hard to have a son and Otto used that to leech his way in. And it worked so terribly well in the Greens favor. Daemon knew this but Rhaenyra saw it and did not call it out the way Daemon did in Season 1 episode 1. And as terrible as it is for a little boy to be murdered, butchered like an animal with his head cut off. The little boy deserved far better as does Helena. However if it was not for this death, the last outcome in the Dance of Dragons will truly be the win for Rhaenyra’s bloodline to remain on the Iron Throne all the way down to Daenerys Targaryen & Jon Snow. The cause of death in the son of Aegon’s is the effect toward Game of Thrones, the Song of Ice & Fire. Thanks for uploading.

Rhaenyra summed up Daemon. I don't know what you are. Daemon isn't good, bad, or anti-hero. You can not pinpoint who he is.

The fact that he still doesn't understand why his brother made Rhynera the heir and doesn't respect that choice or his brother really shows who he is in the worst way. He thinks about the people he supposedly loves in very ugly, demeaning ways that show his arrogance.

Honestly I feel like Daemon is a dragon in a human body. He cares for those under his protection but that doesn’t stop his blood lust or violence. He loves Rhaenyra but that didn’t stop him from choking her in his angry like a dragon might fight it’s mate if it got mad. Not that this excuses anything he does of course, but he feels like the one that seems most dragon or animal like

Daemon can be very honorable, remorseful and commanding respect at times for his great battle skills. He loves his family. But he has a conniving nature, particularly done behind his family's back, that he dresses up as helping it. Viserys, and Rhaenyra, can never wholly trust him, no matter how much they may want to, because he is a loose cannon who never really forgive being passed over with inheriting the family legacy.

I don’t understand why daemon is getting so much hate after his argument with rhaenyra. His brother was weak and chose rhaenyra to be heir out of fear, he ordered to kill aemond because thats what rhaenyra wanted, he put the crown on her head and more. Then rhaenyra calls him pathetic.

I think Daemon did want to strike any hightower blood. What was a "mistake" is the consequences he did not forsee that would damage Rhaenyra. His remorse in ep 3 i think is about failing Rhaenyra and not particularly the death of a the kid.

What annoys me is that Rhaenyra is acting like she didn't sign off on killing an innocent man to make this marriage happen. However, I hate Daemon. Thus I find it very cathartic when Rhaenyra says he's pathetic.

Daemon has never hidden who he is so I don't know why she's behaving this way, that's the reason she married him.

I mean. Daemon isn't a good guy. He's not. I know he's played by someone super charismatic and attractive and is a great actor who can make even a vile person seem sexy, but he's not a good man and really, his relationship with Rhaenyra was never healthy. Either way, these two have knocked it out of the park in every damn scene they're in, but the acting has been elevated in this season.

Rhaenrya and Daemon's argument in this scene sort of reminds me of the disagreement between Sun Quan and Zhou Yu in "Three Kingdoms (2010)".

I kind of get why Daemon is acting the way he is. He was put on the sideline the day he was born and he is desperately trying to get attention and approval. I think he truly loved his brother and loves Rhaenyra and all he wishes for, is them accepting and listening to him. Everything he did was an attempt to win them over and yet his extreme measures and secretiveness undermines that completely. Who knows, maybe he wouldn't do such horrible things if he felt heard and seen. With that being said, there is no excuse for things he has done. I am just trying to get him.

Rhaenyra has lost her mind in this scene. Daemon is impulsive but he didn't betray her. It wasn't his mistake that B&C choose wrong person to kill. And also, Viserys did crown Rhaenyra to cast Daemon aside. Then kept Rhaenyra as an heir out of guilt for killing her mother. Why daughter and father can't see things straight? It's annoying. And viserys did bring realm to war himself after naming a daughter heir and then bringing a son into this world. What a fool

The unreasonable character regression they had Daemon go through for the mechanics of this scene to work is LAUGHABLE.

Daemon doesn’t give a damn about Rhaenyra, he shows no remorse for murdering Jaehaerys and ruining Rhaenyra’s reputation. He is a monster.

Rhaenyra refers to the kid as 'it', thought that was a bit of a slip on the characters part.

The line: He (Viserys) could not trust you! Yeah, instead he trusted Otto & Co & after he died, they went against his will, which he expressed officially & loudly, & put Aegon on the throne. Daemon saying Viserys was weak & useless as a king - what exactly is he saying wrong? I even don' t like Daemon that much, but I hate lazy writing. They think that their audience is dumb & will eat this crap.

Can't even believe that even now they're are people who actually care about him. The monster send people to kill a child less than 3 years and he didn't even feel guilty. At least whit aemond it was an accident and he did feel guilty

Defend daemond whatever you want but we can't deny this : he's an abuser, groomer and use rhaenyra as a tool for getting power. Rhaenyra was a child. He also step up always on her and sabotage her by killing a child. Glad Rhaenyra realize this now. She is a victim no matter what yall say.

This issue with "OMG murdering children" is almost funny. When at the same table during the Council there is Rhaenys who burned hundreds of innocent children the day she escaped KL. But the writers with lobotomies preferred to forget this. So Daemon is immoral & Rhaenys is so moral lol 😂 Sitting there with her eternal dumb smirk. I will be more than pleased when she is killed in 2 episodes the way Daemon suggested to her to kill Aemond few days ago. But she preferred her usual dumb grimace & beefing with him, instead of doing smth useful.

well right now I’m reading the book and ngl Daemon in the books is much better. He’s more strategic and key player in the black while here, he is just a spoiled targeryan but hey the series in not finish yet so it’s too early to judge

At one hand I appreciate that Rhaenyra didn't loose her personality being married to Daemon. He is attractive, strong, cruel and a man - it's easy to slip for his ways. But she still have her owns and not afraid to stand for them. But on the other hand with mortal danger around it's will be better fight with outside world, not inside their couple.

Rhaenyra has to stop being just a good mother, a good person & a weak soft-hearted sheep. And start thinking as politician. Maybe she did not notice, but smb else "sits her throne" & her son is dead. It' s not time to fight with Daemon & break his balls with old issues - she had 6 years to discuss them! - but to exploit him as weapon. She used to be smarter in episode 7 last season. Then in the end of the season she was reborn as Vizzy 🤪🤣 Like we were not fed up with that stupid jerk & his monologues enough on the 1st season.

I think that Daemon would make a far more effective ruler, and I don't think he'd rule with an iron fist. He's a true Targaryen and would bring back the Targaryen glory back to his family. I don't think Rhaenyra's ready to be queen.
