Aegon shines in every episode he is in and that credit goes to the actor. His best moment was with Sunfyre. He had four seconds of exchange with him with only looks and yet people are going crazy over it. So many analysis of their bond. The actor really sold it. And the guy who played Sunfyre too was great.

So good see Milly Alcock in these flashbacks of HOTD, Rhaenyra is the real queen

Man, that soundtrack feels heavenly. Calming, haunting... yet, depressing. Pretty ironic when you think about how the dance ended.

All that hype about a Targaryen being around to end the winter, when it was actually ended by No One.

Its kinda sad that Rhaenyra tells this to Jace on Meraxes skull, Rhaenys Targaryen dragon from which this Rhaenys was named. Both showed dragons are not invincible. Also fun data, Rhaenys was born on the 7th of the seventh moon according to the westerosi calendar (7th of July), same day the episode aired.

I could listen to Emma D’Arcy narrate my life… what a beautiful voice they have. The conviction when Rhaenyra says “Viserys chose ME to succeed him..” is incomparable 😭

This scene is GOT scene,I could feel the tension comming. The battle was amazing i didnt expect much but was blown away. 10/10

This season really portrayed Aegon II as sympathetic, he was groomed to be a puppet and in the end no one took him seriously, or even cared about him, even after him becoming the King. Sunfyre seems to be the only genuine bond he has. That's just sad.

For all those saying this has nothing to do with the books. Yes, you are right. BUT, the show is canon. It's separated from the book. Same characters (almost), different action. And we got to appreciate it as it is.

In GOT, the prophecy was fulfilled in Jon Snow. He was sired by both ice (represented by Lyanna Stark) and fire (represented by Rhaegar Targaryen). He was able to unite kingdoms for a common goal: to defeat the White King and his army. As a man, he is both fire and ice, for he has Stark and Targaryen blood.

This scene was so beautiful.. The acting , the music and the bond between Dragons and their riders and Rhaenyra telling about The song of ice & fire to her Heir Jacaerys. The secret that Tragaryens told their heirs, Greens your false king and none of his siblings don't know about this, You guys are Usurpers.

Well, I guess in the end, a Targaryen just had to be somewhat around, to ensure the catspaw dagger fell into the hands of a Stark.

Always nice to see the rider bonds. Shame both of these dragons got wrecked shortly afterwards.

All the tension around the prophecy is completely lost since the White Walkers turned out to be a huge joke, killed at the very start of this so called "terrible winter." All this worrying about such a non-threat makes this whole subplot comedic

Good decision to not only consult with George RR Martin, but to have him on board as a co-showrunner - he has much more creative power over House of the DRagon than over Game of Thrones (which went south as soon as the show caught up with the books)...

Interesting that the skull of one of the Conquerors' dead dragons (Balerion and Meraxes) is present in each of these scenes. Visually and thematically tying both of them back to the days of Aegon's Conquest and the legacy he left for House Targaryen.

I still would have liked to hear her tell it, or at least start it if she was going to use her father's words, but to finish it with Jace saying he understands it might be true because of what Cragen showed him.

And it turned out that the Prince that was promised just shout out meaningless against a zombie dragon while his little ninja - Stark sister stab through the most dangerous villain of the continent, who has been told for over 8000 years will be the one to end all of mandkind with just one single stab!

I love they mentioned that All Seven Kingdoms should unite against the common foe but they ruined it in Season 8 of GOT. No Lannisters' armies, just the Kingslayer. They should've conquered first the Kingslanding before fighting against the Night King.

and too think....all this infight and loss after loss is all for nothing. Truly a tragic tale.

Idk what people except it to be but these prophecies are always not literal and they foreshadow glimpses of future and in future indeed Aegon Targaryen aka Jon Snow united the realm. He is THE SON of ice and fire, blood of a Targaryen and virtues of a Stark who knows the North like no one else. The Price that was promised. I love his arc and ending of GOT(literally how GRRM too wants btw), just wish it took a bit extra episodes.

It's such an interesting story. Parts of it are true, but i feel like prophecies are usually misunderstood and a lot of the times not accurate. Uniting realms is a hard task. Aegon has his two sisters with him and dragons. After the dance of thr dragons the Targaryeans still rulled for centuries, but their power began to wane as dragons died out. Daenerys was basically alone. Sure she had a formidable army and people loyal to her, but at the end of the day it wasn't enough to gain the full support she needed. The song of ice and fire got lost and was told to others, but not all took it seriously. Jon knew and was a Targaryen, but he was also a stark and grew up a Stark. And he didn't wanto be king. Dany wanted the throne and she wanted a "good world" but she was so warped by what had happened to her. She went way beyond the 7 kingdoms. She wanted the world. At the end of the day the kingdoms were united, but it wasnt a Targaryen that sat the throne. It makes you wonder if Aegon felt like it should be a Targaryen because that was his dream.

I believe Aegon told this dream to Torren Stark so that's why he knelt. Not because of the field of fire. But because he know that a starks priority is not Westeros but the enemy to the north.

If we take this prophecy as canon, something that GRRM told Condal to include in the show, it is very likely that Daenerys will get to sit the throne before the war against the dead. That is, if we believe she is the prince that was promised.

Re-reading my essay on my notes app of how GOT should’ve ended and totally eliminating season 7 and 8 from my thought processes has made watching house of the dragon way better

Remember that dreams in GOT are often misinterpreted. This is a prime example

I’m glad we saw her tell Jace this, others also speculated we would see it at some point, and I hope that after this we see Jace acting differently as Rhaenyra had, with the knowledge he possesses, and even connect it back to what Lord Cregan said to him about the Wall being there to keep out “death”.
