I was asking that and I remember he was more mysoginistic than power hungry. Alicent marrying viserys give him an open door to immediatly and directly having the throne if there was any futur problem he planned to do what he did since there
probably bc Gwayne has nothing. no army no lands he is not a heir of Oldtown. Alicent is a woman and her value is her body [ chilbirth ] For marriage Viserys is the best match for Alicent but Gwayne is not good enough for Rhaenyra. Viserys has no problem to marry a babygirl with big doe eyes [ except moment he stolen his daughter's friend lol ] but Rhaenyra would never agree to marry... poor man...like Harwin was a heir of Harrenhall, the largest caslte in the whole westeros, that's good enough, I think
this was sooo much fun! the idea of these two has been stuck in my head ever since I read one (and only that exist so far) fic with them as pair. you did an absolutely brilliant job with the editing and most especially with creating all the beautiful manips
There are more fics with them on AO3. "The blood that binds" and "The princess and her knight (an act of love out of duty)" but these aren't finished. And there is "A common kind of grief" that is finished but it's not focused on romance, and Rhaenyra in there is kind of an OC. But is a great read.
@@aceinthecase yeah that started post s2 after gweyne had official casting and proper screentime. The one I referred to was the first ever written (which happened during s1 when gweyne was referenced for 2 seconds during the first episode) but I'm glad they're getting more fics. Crackships are fun
