trailmarker #6 I think Jay is likeable and a genuine type guy. I dont think he is all that strategic. So playin the game you cant always assume people will make the right moves rationally. She could have done with a bit more paranoia !
You have respect for a guy who made a move he didn't need to make? There is no way he'll go far in this game. He made himself a target when he didn't need to make that move for a while.
I dunno its hard with the edit. I feel like if you were to vote out someone like Mikayla you do ti exactly then. She seems like someone who would sway jury votes once on a council.
GeekFurious He s probably not gonna go far, but his move was a natural reaction that most of the players d have...Michaela was doing everything- strategy, winning them challenges, being socially likable, knowing Jay s dirtly lil secret...that s scary for most of players and fear is one of the best ways to motivate ppl to do things they d not normaly chose to do...she scared Jay and Will...and you can t work w somebody who scares you. Jay made a mistake but Michaela made her mistakes too.
Kunoichi4ever4 I hate when people say it's too soon to take out a strong player. You might not get another chance to take her out. That being said, taking out your alliance member isn't smart.
Awesome RHAP show! Loved the WHAT?!?!?! reaction and that epic staredown enhanced by Probst's pausing of the vote reading. Then she COMES BACK and I thought...oh no...bad stuff is really going to happen! Also, another round of fun surprises at the end of the podcast! Can't wait to round off the week with the blogs and more RHAP casts.
***** I get your point, I m gonna admit I m a bit biased coz he was ma pre-game pick to win...so nautally I d love to be right for once. Bluntly put I think he might be a bit arrogant, which in his case doesnt annoy me as much as it did with Andrew...or even in my eyes Joe Anglim..who also had that vibe. Ken needs to lay low and do the Jeremy thing and surround himslef with threats, coz he is great in challeges and is a bit pushy in my eyes with some of his ideas, which could slap him in the face real hard.
We lost the most entertaining player of the season, way too soon! Imagine Michaela asking a question at the ftc, would have been tv gold.. Such a shame
I think that Brenda being voted off by Dawn was the biggest blindside in Survivor. Does anyone think they will bring back Michaela to another season of survivor?
People crying about the technical difficulties of the podcast need to stop being babies. There was only a few 2 second glitches in the first half of the podcast that didn't take anything away from the conversation. Rob works hard to get all these podcasts out for us, we can be a little more accepting of the quality, especially since it's a rare occasion. rob has a planet is getting too spoiled!
Jay realized how smart and strategic she is when she explained the future strategy with the shells....but he did not think it out like Fishbach did..... Love Jay, though....he was full of positive energy and he exited the game with so much class.... Wish he plays again...
Always let the big target be unanimously voted out, and she would have. Nobody would want her too far because she'd end up winning. He jumped the gun and made a real bad move. Fun to watch though.
I'm not completely down on this move from Jay. After the merge the target is going to be on the challenge threats, which both him and Micheala are, but he may not be able to beat her putting pra bigger target on himself. She also knew about his Idol which isn't a good thing. She also proved that just because she voted with someone doesn't mean she is in alliance with them because she voted to save Figgy but was then happy when Figgy got voted out. She also isn't capable of having a poker face which can be a good thing unless you're relying on her to pull off a blind side with you. All around she was a threat and it is smart to take out threats. Jay has also solidified Will as an ally first by sharing the idol and second, by having will get his hands dirty with him.
Mine gets a tinny distortion sound every few minutes or so. Have had this same problem only on this podcast. Sometimes the audio and video are out of sync.
I feel like I'm the only one who saw that move coming from a mile away, it was really just in the episode editing for me. Also I do think it was that bad of a move for Jay, because we don't really know how loyal Michaela would of been if something didn't go her way. plus she was the only one who knew they had the idol. idk I think it was tough both ways, but I didn't/don't think Jay's gonna win anyway. Even though I actually like him...
Jay just went from Hero / Fan Favorite to whatever short list of names Russell Hantz is on somewhere. You must "feel like an asshole" pal, you booted America's favorite player. You should be tried for treason.
so butthurt... if somebody is AFP pre-merge, they are probably doing something horribly wrong, coz not even Vlachos was crazy enough to be such a big personality pre-merge...
What I really want to happen during this merge is that Adam, Ken, and Jessica(if she doesn't get swayed by taylor) team up with zeke, and David. That leaves Jay, Will, and Taylor to pair up because I think that Hannah will flip against Jay to join Adam and Zeke. IDK what the other gen x will do tho.
I d say Chris will probably stick with Zeke and David and probably pull in bret and sunday in that the next few votes d be hard to survive for taylor(tho taylor had that scene with David so i m waiting whether it will have som impact on the game) mischelle,jay and will ...and after that chaos could start coz- David&Ken&Jessica v Chris&Bret&Sunday ....with Adam and Zeke in the middle ...
I think Adam could have spun his turning on Taylor to say that now Taylor won't be a target since he doesn't have a showmance. I also think Rob has the right idea if someone wants to lie about being a cop; if he says he's an EMT I'm sure Brett would have been in situations where EMTs were there to help so he would still be able to tell stories about work to bond but just from a different side.
brett was so smug i want him gone before jay because at least jay is trying to play even if it's a dumb move and he makes zero sense brett did nothing to save himself it was all luck on his part
Hell Jay just blindsided the viewers which doesnt happen too often! And I know ppl are pissed off, but I m just grateful coz it s been a while since surivor properly shocked me ...not the best move strategically, but sign me up for more crazyness!
I think judging moves as either good or bad over-simplifies them since there's so many variables. If Survivor was as simple as good move or bad move then it would be a lot easier. I think Jay explains himself pretty well in one of his secret confessionals, that Michaela is too volatile and doesn't hold back her opinions, which would impact Jay's ability to make moves and make other connections at the merge. Michaela's personality would make the alliances way too obvious, not everyone is going to be like Hannah who will take someone telling them off or barking instructions at them.
Yeah except it is a lot easier to play the numbers and switch around to help them get to the final three rather than going with six strong gen xers who can pick them off one by one
Exactly it is easier to change the numbers and go with voting blocks with the millennials rather than go with the gen xers and have a harder time changing the numbers
SUCH A LIT TRIBAL wow Jay's stare though OMG. This move is beneficial for Jay because Michaela is super smart, strategic, is a big challenge threat, and she knows about his idol which she could have outed to her advantage in the future.. it will be interesting to see how beneficial the move is though, because it may have been too early because Michaela would probably be a loyal ally with the Millennials 4 here early merge and even to Final 4, and with the unintended consequence of alienating Hannah, it seems that Hannah, Zeke, and Adam will go work with the "Gen X'ers" early merge

I was surprised that everyone was surprised Michaela got voted off. I figured that was what would happen sooner rather than later. Everyone was rooting for her... I can understand since she's strong and smart but I wasn't rooting for her because she had a big mouth and she was too abrasive, not a good social game. I actually wrote last week that I didn't see her making it much farther after her little post-challenge speech dissing all the Gen Xers... My episode one picks to win were Adam for the Millenials and Jessica for the Gen Xers... through the episodes I've added Zeke, David and Ken to the list. I'm really excited that it looks like they're all going to end up in one big alliance together, I would have never expected that. I don't know what to think about Adam's explanation to Taylor though. At first I thought it was awesome because he was not being sappy and trying to make excuses for what he did or saying it wasn't his fault, he didn't mean to, etc; he was actually totally owning up to his game. I also liked that he didn't do it in a mean way, "hahaha I totally outwitted you". He just acknowledged that he screwed Taylor's game but it was a move that had to be made and he was sorry. It reminded me of Todd at his final tribal in China. That's why I was a bit disappointed when Tony won S28, he was making too many excuses for his game play at Final Tribal instead of owning up to it! Adam's move reminded me of what Michelle said to Rob a few weeks ago, about letting people be pissed at you and moving on instead of trying to make them forgive you when the memory of your wrongdoing is still fresh in their mind. Bret lying about his job... He says that cops have a bad track record on Survivor, which is largely true, but that's because they always lie about their jobs and are caught! How are you supposed to trust someone like that?? I was rolling my eyes at that... Why cops are such bad liars I don't understand. And Jay's move, I like it. Bad timing, I agree, but Michaela was someone who had to leave at some point soon. I mean, she can't always be shooting her mouth off about who's in her alliance and who isn't in front of everyone. And especially since she knows about his idol!! I wouldn't have wanted to keep her around either, but I agree that he should have waited for the numbers to shake down post-merge and eliminated her when he knew he would still hold a numerical advantage. I have to say this, though, that this season is my favourite all-new cast season since Tocantins. I loved the Samoa cast but Russell had too much air-time and we didn't see enough of the people I found really interesting. One World, it's at the bottom of my list. Kim saved it somewhat but there were too many bad people for her win to make everything ok (Alicia, Colton, ugh...). Even Cagayan was very good but a bit too crazy... and obvious winner... San Juan del Sur, Worlds Apart, both had really annoying or just mean people on the cast that I couldn't stand. I'm really loving this season, so many great people, even when I don't like them that much (ex. Michelle, Jay, Bret), I don't hate them. I'm really enjoying this season, rarely have enjoyed the pre-merge phase this much (again, last time was probably Tocantins) and I can't wait to see what happens after the merge!! Super exciting and I have absolutely no idea who is going to emerge to win at this point, seems like it's up for grabs for anyone.
i dont think it a bad move was the best move no. at the end a day if Michaela when to the final 3 with them meicheala win let be honest here. and she is a beast she could get win ever challenge after the mrege. they look at this may be our only time they could do it. but i was hugh fan a meicheala so i am piss she is gone i want her to win.
Oddly a few episodes later Jay is one of my favorite players, because I think he is pretty genuine and keeps it real. But I dont think he's all that much of a strategy guy. I think he didnt trust Michaela viscerally cause she found him with the idol. Cant always assume people act strategically, which was what was her downfall
Smooth Evan but she has that line where she says she doesn't want to be thought of as a strong player and then she does bad in the challenge, then she says going is good so they can build trust
