Brilliant job by Adam to get triple juice out of the kiss-of-death-"advantage". 1) He got credit for not playing it. 2) He tricked Jay to feel it was necessary to invite him to the reward = he stole the reward anyway. 3) He got credit again for giving the darn thing to Jay. Plus winning immunity Plus stealing Will's thunder at TC. Heavy Adam stuff this evening:)
Jontor11 Well, he wasted his idol for absolute nothing, he was safe, and there are a lot of flippers in the game, so wasn't that necessary keeping Hannah. Really bad move.
On hindsight we can say he wasted it. But he didn't have this hindsight. He had no way to know that Will was definitely going to flip since he had never worked with Will before and couldn't trust Will, and he could not risk losing Hannah since he would go home soon after with his idol only saving him from one vote. By saving Hannah, he is now in a powerful, solid final 4 alliance and has won favor from his alliance and the jury, so knowing what he knew then, it was very smart play
SurvivorF@N Of course he had no way to know that for sure, but he also had NO WAY to know for sure that the votes were going to Hannah. You can't give him credit for anticipating that and then excuse him for not anticipating Nick's vote. He made a good read on the other alliance (maybe we need to give more credit to Hannah here) and a bad read on Nick. About Nick's decision, even if Adam thought it was a 50/50 chance of Nick flipping, there was not so much risk on not playing It. -If you don't play it: a) If Will flips: done. You keep Hannah and the idol. And you also show Will that you trusted him. b)If Will doesn't flip: Hannah is out, but the other 5 alliance is full of flippers: Zeke, Jay, Will...they all have the potential to flip on their own, specially after Adam and Jay make peace i can see him convincing Jay to flip on Zeke. And even in your 3 alliance David would be no doubt the first target and then probably Ken because of his incident with Will. And in any case he would still have the idol. Also you keep it away to be back in play for others. -Playing it: You keep your alliance, right, but the question is not that if it is solid, question is: does Adam need it to be solid? Adam knows he won't win against David or Hannah, so he doesn't need that 4 strong because it's not on his best interest to go to the top 4 with them!
Glad to see Adam and Jay getting along even though they've been on opposite sides all season. Great to see a cast that's not all about grudges and revenge!
still betting on David Ken and Hannah as the FTC with David winning. (rob and stephen' heads will explode if it happens lol) but adam is not out of it yet, imho.
I love this season!!! Great story telling, great character moments amazing strategy. Very exciting and compelling. High quality reality TV. God bless and Merry Christmas season everyone.
I think Jay is in a really good spot. Strong bonds with Bret and Sunday. He still has the idol and there seems to be no urgency from anyone to vote him out
Ken definitely made a mistake tonight but I think he can redeem himself. He seemed so level headed before so I have some faith in him but he needs to do something that can give him some credit because if he goes to the final with David he's going to lose.
mizzdiiva92 i wonder if we're just being manipulated by the edit with ken. he seemed really down to earth before, but will said working with him was like ripping off your nails from your fingers and toes. but it's will, and everyone exaggerates on survivor, so im just speculating.
It turns out, Adam's move to use the idol would not have mattered because Will voted for Zeke (making it 5-4), and Will's move to flip would not have mattered because of Adam using the idol for Hannah... it's weird that both made a "move" but only Adam is getting the credit.
I'm guessing that is the case - way more camera time than Will. Not to mention, Adam's move stole the thunder from Will's move - and Adam ended up wasting an idol.
But it was so close, he was only one choice away from not wasting it. Will was too much a wildcard that no one is going to fault him for "waisting" it.
I agree mostly what that. Adam looks like the hero because Jeff didn't have to read all the votes - so not everyone (yet) knows that Will flipped. In hindsight, Adam could have risked it and kept the idol... he is lucky that he chose Hannah -- so in that aspect, he did make the right call - if he chooses anyone else, Will gets the credit for the "move."
i think adam is the last one standing before the FTC. maybe im mistaking his edit because they are milking hard his mother story but i really think he goes far. David and Ken are, giving the choice, more likely to stay with their alliance. even though the idol was "wasted" his will to save Hannah will help him with them. i honestly think they are the last 4.
it d be nice to hang on to it, but we just saw how it helped David that even tho he wasted an idol he wasnt even a target tonight...I think these ppl are very scared of idol plays(and now will be again free to find..so David get back to work) + those 4 are a real strong alliance at this point(playing idols for each other left and right),the only thing that could stop them is probably Jay idoling sb out of their group..which I hope wont happen
Ken panicked and made a dumb move, which turned out to be a good move for him because he could've been the one to go home. He survived... and there are bigger threats than him: David, Jay, Will...
Remmy Kauffer just because he avoided going home does NOT mean it was a good move. he would've most likely stayed since will voted with him anyway and if he didn't pull his stunt will REALLY would've been loyal. i think ken put himself into a worse position, because now his allies don't trust him and people like hannah and adam will turn on him before each other, david or maybe even will
once again I agree with the fishbach. will def deserves kudos. had I read ken better during ep one, I likely would have agreed with the fishman all season. I thought ken was offering a subtle redirect after paul's comments about genx's superiority. he was doubling down! ken went trumpian: we have the greatest humility! our humbleness is bigly huge! anyway, I liked dave's selljob to will and I didn't like probst clarifying it for ken. it is best for ken's side that ken doesn't know what is goin on. I mean, I doubt that anyone else didn't understand what dave did... he did the best job... I thought. now, ken goes back to camp and asks dave, in front of everyone, what the thing was he was doing. by "he" I mean dave. ken: why for jeff say you trying to talk good at will? all this does is draw attention to dave's game play!
I love this season and these players, and really appreciate them playing hard and individually, but man there is some bad gameplay. Can't complain it makes unpredictable television
So I love you guys, but I can't believe you don't see Brett as the clear winner. He always renegotiates after tribal, he's been on the bottom for weeks, but always works his way in. Plus check out the edit, they focus on him even when he isn't doing anything... he's got this.
Adam didn't actually have a good episode, hannah does say "its me" every vote she has been in and therefore it was bad judgement by Adam to actually trust her. The advantage play was snakelike, he did not need to say anything about his advantage, it was a very un-empathetic move because he is only trying to get people to like him. To be honest he sorta did have a good episode but it just annoys me the Rob and Stephen think hes such a good player when up until this point he has been the least social player and failed strategically as well.
Jake Beresford hannah has only ever said " it's me" twice. on this episode and the last, so I would say she has good instincts as both those times it was her!
Jake Beresford He did have a great episode. A successful idol play and an immunity challenge win along with the edit entirely behind him. He's a contender.
Tailslover13 I didn't mean to say the play was successful, I just think people will have more respect for Adam playing the idol on idol than Will flipping.
Can people get a read on how long the name is when people are writing their vote. Hannah takes much longer to write down than Ken or Dave, maybe Adam and Hannah got a tell off that?
The "big move era" is due to the fact Survivor isn't casting strong physical players. I want to see a team of Michaela fighting for individual immunity.
I thought about that too, but if Will told Adam/Hannah that they were voting for her and then Adam maybe wasnt sure that Will was still gonna vote on their side then he would play the idol for security.
yo rob, i love you, but please stop with the ken impression. you've been trying to make it happen for a while now but it's not gonna happen. just let it go.
I agree with everyone saying how overrated Adam is. Hannah has panicked at every tribal, and trusting her is a mistake of character even though she was the target. He also isn't very strategic since he burned his idol, when he didn't need to. And finally I can't imagine someone with such a compelling emotional story being so disliked in the game, so it shows how bad his social game is. His own alliance said "he's the worst teammate ever!" And HE JUST USED AN IDOL ON THE PERSON WHO SAID THAT!!!!!
