Rhinestone Cowboy Costume Sewing Tutorial (How to Sew Chaps!)

Woohoo for a new sewing tutorial! This is an idea I've wanted to do for a while now and it surely took a while to finish! This tutorial will cover in depth how I made these chaps from scratch, and also how I embellished the jacket and chaps with stones and jewels and spikes and fringe!
I was able to buy my jacket already made, so I only bought 2 yards of black denim to make the chaps! To make the entire outfit from scratch you'll need more than 2 yards. You'll also need some fringe that measures wrist to wrist (or more if you'd like to layer it up), and a ton of rhinestones and other embellishments you want to use. :)

I just landed here looking for diy cowboy outfits for my 1:6th action figures. I keep thinking I am listening to Hextian speaking...you sound very alike! I love this outfit and will be scaling it down, maybe in that soft Chamois leather for my figures (It will be decorated but I think I will have to curb the rhinestones as 1:6th would be easily swamped (of course Hextian does wonderful drag queen dolls but I don't have her creativity!). She's an amazing designer and she has a RU-vid series making a gown for only $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100. It's kind of amazing what she creates when on a budget, she might inspire you.
