Rhino calf plays with zoo keeper 

The difference between cute and terrifying is probably a few months.

It's so weird seeing a rhino run and bounce around like an excited dog. Extremely adorable.

For me it's much cooler how chill momma is about all this. There's at least some degree of trust in the zookeepers not to harm the baby.

The innocence and happiness here is just adorable. Just like a human child checking back with mom to make sure it's okay, then right back to the jumping and playing. Love it.

The playful nature of young animals, of any species, is just about the purest thing on the face of this Earth.

She's like a doggy with armor. So cute

Beautiful and innocent baby. It breaks my heart that in order to save these angels we have to keep them in such ugly places. I hope they don't spend too much time in those cages. Thank you guys for taking care of these animals which are a gift from god to us.

As a kid I always viewed these amazing animals as dinosaurs. They are just so unique to me. Definitely one of my favorite animals.

3 years later: Rhino: Wanna play Zookeeper: *sweats Rabidly*

Imagine when this rhino is all grown up and runs over to say hello. My mother spent some time on a farm when she was a little girl during The Great Depression. She had the idea that if she picked up a calf when it was still relatively small, picked it up _every_ day then she'd be able to pick it up when it'd fully grown up. That experiment lasted less than two months. Several years later, while visiting the farm just after WWII began, my mother returned to the farm and her 'calf" trotted from out in mid-pasture to greet her enthusiastically. The cow kept putting her head under my mother's arm like she wanted her to get up on her back. The farm's owner, my great uncle, put my mother up on Elsie's back and walked them around the pasture for some minutes. My mother loved telling this story throughout her life. I heard it many times and I get a kick out of thinking about it now and a tear or two in my eye.

Moves so effortlessly without even much motion. Crazy power in rhinos, even as a baby.

Someone's thrilled about mastering the concept of object permanence. It's like that hide-behind-blankets-and-reappear game for human babies. This looks like basically a really exciting game of hide and seek at that age - even better you're old enough to move and do the exploration yourself so you can make the lovely people and lovely mom appear and reappear whenever you want to! Must be an exuberant feeling to realise you have this freedom having just gained life.

For the people saying that they think the cages are too small, a quick Google search for the name of the zoo clearly shows photographs of the rhinos outside in a much larger habitat. This is clearly just a night pen for them. A few seconds of research goes a long way.

I want to,play with a baby rhino! Hippos are my favorite but this rhino clad gives them a run for their money. I love the sound of her running and seeing her hopping and just having a fun time. ♥️
