Recently, a friend installer a 36 volt, 120# thrust, 84 inch shaft, Rhodan on his 27 foot Sailfish with twin 200 hp Yamaha's. We tested the motor twice and it worked flawless. The first time was in St. Andrews Bay where the bay flows out to the Gulf. Conditions, wind 12 to 15 mph, outgoing tide. The second time was three miles off shore in the Gulf at the Sea Buoy. Conditions, rolling swells 2 to 3 high, wind 10 to 12 mph, current 1.35 mph, wind, current and swells were going in the same directions. The only time the motor would not hold the boat on the spot is when a big swell would force the motor to come out of the water. The motor coming out of the water was my fault because I did not deploy it all the way down. However, the motor would immediately put us back on the spot. Now we are waiting for Red Snapper and Gag Grouper season to open so we can put the Rhodan through its paces.

I just pulled the trigger and bought the Rhodan HD GPS Anchor Trolling Motor, 84" for my 32 OffShore, can't wait to have it installed and test it on the water. I do a lot of deep water off-shore fishing in the Gulf, and this will be a game changer for me. Thanks for sharing this video.
I have just decided to get the Rhodan for my Boston Whaler Vantage 270 its 29.3 ft overall withTwin 250 Verados i'm running in the gulf and looking forward to picking it up and installing. Hope to have it up an running just after Christmas :)
Really nice demonstration, but the water must be a lot different down there. When it is blowing 10 to 15 up hear there are a lot of visible whitecaps. Can you show it working in a stronger blow?
Thank you for this video! I have been looking for one on these gps anchors for a while. How does the system perform in a chop? Does it get beat to death riding on the bow? How is the battery life? I have a 27 ft cc and really could use one of these as i fish in 200ft+ but its hard to find reliable info on them!
