Thanks for making a good record of our Gala. We had never been able to run six steam locos at the same time before. At the moment it is not known whether we shall be able to do it again.
No problem at all. We had a great time even though we had a long drive to get to you. It was well worth it to see such a fantastic display. Shame that it was the loco from our "local builder" failed, but when you're that old...... thanks.
We set the date 10 months in advance. Where we were lucky was that the first trials with Billie showed that it ran well - despite 40 years in sheds! But then RQ failed and we only fixed it with a few days to spare. Now part of the valve gear on the Class 10 has smashed. C'est la vie with old steam locomotives.@@onthetracks
