Holy frick this is the same guy that made "W" "hangman is a weird game" and "how many super mario games are there?" i thought it was 3 different channels my life is a lie
I love how this whole comment section is just “Jan posts on the weirdest collection of topics” which is accurate but also what’s great about the channel. I can get the perfect tokirap, a 30 minute analysis of what games are in the super mario series, and rhythm heaven content from one person who loves it all. Though I suspect the RH fever/megamix comparison isn’t ever coming.
jan is the toki pona word for person, it not actually his name. I thought it was for a long time until i started learning toki pona, mostly because Jan is the czech version of John.
My only real complaint is a lot of the audio cues get drowned out by the music, and the transition between games is often unclear. As a viewing experience, though, it's really good
Oh God, here come the Rhythim Heaven-Dark Geometry-toki pona-Touhou-fans! That's like at least nif-over-nif people! I love and admire the way jan Misali just post whatever and keeps carving out increasingly small, yet surprisingly coherent niches. It's honestly inspiring in a time where creators are taught to pander to the masses. Keep on being unapologetically awesome!
@@CrystalLily1302 nif is 36 (100) in Base 6 (seximal), which is jan Misali's favourite base numbering system. Unless you meant specifically the 'over' part in which case I can't help you.
As a Touhou fan who has heard the vocal rendition of Bad Apple to the point of getting sick of it, Patricia Taxxon's cover of it was a great choice. I just wish I had heard of her remix work sooner. As for the custom remix itself it has quickly risen up my list of favorites. This is by far the best use of Built to Scale DS in a custom remix I've ever heard and it puts a smile on my face whenever I heard it in the first verse.
This is a collaboration I wasn’t expecting but wholeheartedly welcome. Taxxon’s cover of this song was already spectacular, but to see it given the Custom Remix treatment by such a talented remixer is something else entirely. The remix itself reminds me of Remix 8 DS on steroids with its shifting of minigames, which I also always love. Videos like this remind me why I fell in love with this rabbit-hole corner of the internet, and with your channels. Mute pona jan Misali!
why is this so funny to me? like, seriously, there is _no reason_ for me to find this funny. i've never played rhythm heaven, and i haven't even heard the original bad apple, or patricia's cover on its own. and yet i can't stop smiling!
somehow i'm still surprised that two of the best content creators on this platform found each other and became friends and subsequently collabed several times but i'm entirely cool with it. keep being awesome yall
I strive to make gameplay patterns that mirror the main melody that hard! How did this jack-of-all-content compose a custom remix this good on the second try?? oh, wait, misali has done older remixes on soundcloud
Really clever how you used the cue for one minigame for the inputs of the next. I especially liked the beep-beep-beep from Flipper-Flop for the triple tap of Blue Birds.
i always try to tap along to custom remixes as if they were playable and lemme say this one had some really confusing bits, with "tap constantly" games transitioning messily into "other" games. awesome visuals though! loved the variety
The lyrics of bad apple perfectly describe my feelings to this video: Am I dreaming what the hell am I looking at, in this convoluted flow of time literally nothing makes sense
No idea what I just watched. I'm just here because RU-vid knows I like languages. The algorithm must be getting increasingly confused with your channel. On the other hand, it's a great move to make videos about different topics so that people from other niches will also watch them.
Been listening to this every now and then for like a month and only just realized the first contact part displays the current lyrics at that moment. Excellent.
I first saw your hangman video, then the w video popped up. Some time later the Bodies in the floor video appeared and i leaved a comment. Then some months later the rhythm heaven iceberg video appeared and i watched it in its entirety. I had no idea you were the same guy all this time. You sir, are extremely good at what you do. Thank you for doing all these videos I cant believe im editing this 2 minutes after making this comment, but you also made the total mario games video as well, holy i didnt knew i could find someone with this amount of good and interesting well put together videos. You have earned my fullest respects
coming back to watch this again and noticing how well done the remix is, like the mixing minigames line up so well with the rhythm from the melody. so good
@@deyvantwo5426 too many of my Twitter mutuals already have I'm cool just watching from the sidelines all I know is that reimu, Marissa, sanae, Sakuya, and others exist and that patchouli is cute and the music is good and it looks like hell to actually play
Is the constellation overlay towards the end of this a reference to the video for Our Axis, or have I just listened to so much of Patricia Taxxon's work now that I'm seeing references where none exist? Either way, this is a really splendid video!
I come from a Video taking apart and weighing every Mario game for it's entry into the prestigious Super Mario Brothers Series to this Rhythm Heaven Bad Apple remix. What a time to be Alive.
why does he like rhythm heaven, is friends with patricia taxxon, and make fascinating videos that i thoroughly enjoy? literally played rhythm heaven as my childhood, and patricia taxxon made one of my favorite songs and just good music in general.
i believe i should've been way ahead of you on watching this only reason why i can't add it to my bad apple playlist is because of my strict rules there
Hmm DS Built to Scale. It's a game pretty hard to use (if you stick to the "standards"). It puts constraints on the melody (in the game, only three different sets of pitches are used: do-re-mi-fa-sol, sol-la-si-do-re, and do-re-mi-fa-sol of a higher octave. Basically climbing up a major scale.) This song happened to have parts where it climbs a minor scale and Jan Misali used Built to Scale here which is fine... I guess, but then he did what every custom remixer did and just went wild with the melodies. (Wii Launch Party also kinda has this problem, only pitch isn't the cue)
After watching this I went "Hm. I should rewatch Let the Bodies Built to Scale." Only later did I realize that that's _also_ made by jan Misali...? You're slowly turning into Neil Cicierega the second, which is to say: I keep discovering random bits of internet culture, which I hold dear, are made by you. Wild.
It's been about 8 years since someone requested i make a remix of that song. I still don't quite get what it's about and why it somehow keeps being relevant to some degree... But here we are.
