Sometimes I’ll make up names for the sequels without special names. Dumb stuff like “Super Duper Samurai Slice” For Super Samurai Slice 2 and “Figure Fighter Deluxe” for Figure Fighter 2(Wii) / 3(3DS)
@@braidonsaelens5174 well, that's not completely imprecise, there are a lot 2 games that have a different name, for example, tap trial 2 japanese translation is called super tap dance.
English is actually in a lot of untranslated Japanese media. As far as I know, it's seen there as cool, and it's also spoken there as the most common second language. So, that might be why!
@A'Zyron Newton i beat remix 7 just now and it says congratulations for beating all the main minigames, heres the staff blah blah blah, at the end he says its not the end of the game and stuff , the menu music changes to our generation
1:07:26 That was so cool of them to throw in a three over two polyrhythm. I don’t think any of the subsequent games ask anything nearly that complex of the player.
I'd say that Rhythm Tweezers 2 from this game, Fillbots 2, Rhythm Heaven's Remix 8 (by sheer speed), and Rhythm Heaven Fever's Remix 3 definitely match this one. I'll also say that, while it's maddeningly difficult to get your hands to "click" into the rhythm, the entire difficulty is washed away once they do.
@Henry Amazeing Or you could just memorize what the number is for each round and just add whatever more he does after the pattern. Which is what I did. Fuck trying to replicate the rhythm, lol.
There are WarioWare bunnies at the beginning of Remix 8, and they are referenced elsewhere in the series, like in Shoot-‘em Up (DS) on the control panel, and also in Working Dough 2 (Wii) when they fly up at the end
I love this series, and Tengoku is one of my favorites! The first day after I got my physical copy, I played the game, something like 15 hours straight (only stopping to take a break after Quiz Show) It's a great game, basically.
1:00:41 Wow and the Man that’s was doing commands cloned himself and they had to listen to the soldier in the bunny costume who’s voice seems to actually be high
@@siryipyap6128 bruh, in one of the notes, one of the actual soldiers aknowledged this, he knows that they are not the commander and the remixes are actualy cannon acording to the marcher's diary
Given its release date it would never have come out in the west, but I guarantee I would have absolutely loved it when I was a kid. Hell, maybe it would have inspired me to pick up the drums instead of turning down that opportunity. Just beat Silver recently and this game's charm is boundless. The other games are great but like a lot of series' firsts, Tengoku just feels so unique compared to what followed. No, I have no clue how you'd even begin to localize some of the games. I think some are fine even while steeped in japanese culture, like Tram & Pauline, Ninja Bodygaurd, Samurai Slice, and Fireworks (and to a lesser extent Bunny Hop). Even games like Power Calligraphy could be passed off just fine, or even replaced with latin characters. But with Bon Odori and Remix 5, absolutely zero clue how you'd make it make sense to a westerner, _especially_ Remix 5.
I downloaded the rom for this game right after it came out after reading about it online and spent all of summer 2006 playing it via emulator, learning ‘left’ and ‘right’ in Japanese and showing it to every friend who came over, a few of them bring it up to this day. Genuinely one of the happiest times in my life, all the tracks in this game bring me right back.
Karate man : It’s weird playing mega mix first and seeing how this is Karate man 2 instead of 1 like in Megamix Rhythm tweezers : Why are the radishes the same size as the onions?.... Marching Orders : Their faces.....they enjoy everything which is good. Spaceball : My fav mini game besides DJ school. Clappy Trio : Haha Afro teacher club Remix 1 : Actually pretty cool for a first remix, not so hard yet a bit challenging. Sneaky spirits : Actually fun seeing the ghosts get hit. Samurai slice : The devil Tengu things actually look cool. Rat race : Hehe Tom and jerry Sick beats : I wish this was a real mini game in megamix The bon odori : I understand it can’t really be translated in English but it’s still cool. Remix 2 : I really love the Don don pan pan parts. Wizard’s waltz : I really REALLY don’t understand Showtime : Awwwww I love penguins so this is really adorable to me. Bunny hop : Do you know how hard it is to actually jump on every bump without getting it wrong? Tram and Pauline : These should really get a remake, also it took me a good 5 minutes to get the trampoline joke. Space dance : When they move to the left it sounds like their saying turtle lice, it also sorta sounds like Dixie down when the go down. Remix 3 : It’s....nice if I knew the lyrics. Quiz show : I dunno why but I like it for some reason. Night walk : It’s nice because we get to see Play-yan. Power calligraphy : Ok don’t ask why but I legit hate this. Poly rhythm : Woosh. Looks super difficult along with quiz show being satanic but this being devilish testing your A and the plus skills. Rap men : Almost like DJ school but not all the way sadly. Remix 4 : I actually like it, with a nice soft tune. Bouncy road : I actually enjoy this because of the combo balls. Ninja Bodyguard : No. -Object left the room.- Toss Boys : Isn’t the red person a girl? Fireworks : Nice, but can get boring. Tap Trial : Kill me now. Remix 5 : Its a kind of funny thing because of the weird anime-ish style The Snappy Trio : Clappy Trio but rigged Bon Dance : They ruined the music with all the new stuff, also the red girl looks out of place with these colors. Cosmic Dance : A dance after another, anyways I like this better than Space Dance because it just sounds nicer, and I’m not sure if it’s sped up but I like the sped up rhythm rally and space dance better. Rap Women : Even though I don’t understand I think the words are more clear, and rap men is a nice video game, so this is also good. Tap Trial 2 : Tap Trial but rigged Remix 6 : When I first saw rhythm heaven I got confused on why the finalish remixes didn’t have their games, so this would have been new. Karate man 2 : Karate man but Satan made it. Rhythm Tweezers 2 : The beginning bongo noises activated something in my body, also....MELON RADISH Ninja Reincarnate : This is basically ninja bodyguard in remix 5. Night walk 2 : More Play-Yan so always a A+ Marching orders 2 : Adorable bunny men. Remix 7 : Hmmmmmm remix 1 but if somebody made a parody and remix 2....and remix 4 Bouncy road 2 : The first bouncy road but more fun and hard. Toss boys 2 : I like it better than toss boys for some reason. Poly rhythm 2 : Rip your brain and fingers. Spaceball 2 : Spaceball but weirder. Sneaky Spirits 2 : The last minigame before the last remix. Remix 8 : Perfection. Object says, The music was outstanding! I also enjoyed writing this review. €~*Perfect!*~€
When I was watching this video I grabbed a controller and tried to play along with the video Problem toss boys and bouncy road 2 and polyrhythm same with bon dance Like some of these are hard
Lol I'm only familiar with the ones on the 3DS. The music sounds better than I thought it would. Everyone looks like they were drawn on MS Paint. xD I wonder why they didn't keep the second onion in the onion pluck one; it looks like it signifies the second tempo or something.
Remix 6: great use of the rhythm skills grown overtime playing the game, has a re-animated version because of how good it is. Remix 8: underwhelming final remix that feels like a 4th remix using only the games in the first couple sets.
Watched whole video, lol. Also, we get to see some of the other ones soon enough... sometime in 10 years or so... That would be me if I was 14 in 2006, but I was born in 2003.
I am also 3 years older than this game series. Being in the year of the goat in the Chinese zodiac is cool, I have vague memories of then but luckily my parents have footage of me when I was a toddler

If you said you had perfect on almost all on 1 or 2 tries. Then what the f- How did you evem managed to beat Bon Dance? That was the hardest one for me to beat
Yay! I’m producing a video game review webseries and when I heard about this game and its ties to Rhythm Heaven DS and Rhythm Heaven fever, this was sure to be a game that’s featured on my webseries. I have a GBA SP but will that specific model be region locked? Where exactly is the region data stored? The cartrage or the console?

Any gameboy/gameboy color/gameboy advance game will work on any region console, also theres no difference between gba hardware revisions so japanese gba games work on anything that plays gba.@@eb2k445
18:25 okay WOW that looks and sounds REALLY boring. Phenomenally so compared to anything else in this game or heck the series. Even the quiz show one is better?? (juuuust barely lol) edit: wait no i saw the quiz one again. that's JUST as bad xD
@@kirbynat493 The general consensus is that ANY game would have been better than quiz. Here are my top picks from each game Tengoku: Ninja Reincarnate DS: Rockers!!! Fever: Donk-Donk

I have a little problem with this game. Every time I open a game or go back, it freezes. The music stops and all animations stop. But don't worry, because it only happens for like 2 seconds then it goes back. Please note that I'm playing this game on real original purple non backlit GBA hardware, and the cartridge is a bootleg GBA cart with the English patch. I think it's the cart that's the problem.
