Bro. Dopamine is by far the best work of art I have ever heard displayed on a fretboard. Nothing else even comes close. The only thing keeping me from calling it perfect is the fact that perfect does not exist. It's there any way for me to buy a physical copy of Elevation?

@@metalinvader3193 you can’t be an exceptional soloist unless you have a strong rhythm becuase good memorable solos have exceptional phrasing which is all based on rhythm

I get that solos are more difficult to play, but not nearly as enjoyable as a good rhythm. IMO solos are kind of out of style.

Rythm guitar is so underestimated, but it's basically the core of the song, the solo puts more melody in it. I like the fact that you didn't do a classic video where the lead put to shame the rythm guitarist, both has pro and cons. I don't think there's a winner, i liked both. At the end it dipends of the song who' s greater.

Rhythm is more difficult imo...yeah he's playing the same thing but playing the same thing with consistency throughout a whole song requires alot more patience and skill than ppl give credit...this is why I play lead lolz

Ripping through scales is irritating imo. Where is the note choice, the passing tone, the subtlety of harmonic information...it's gone and replaced by chainsaw ripping and self indulgent flailing. Boring.

Rhythm always wins. If the listener isn’t compelled to move by the rhythm within the first 30 seconds, they’ll never make it to the solo. There are plenty of hit songs with crappy or missing solos, but there are no hits with a shitty motionless rhythm. Solos might convey skill, but flawless timing showcases discipline.

I think ~good~ solos in well-written songs can add more to a song than just technicality. Ofc, many ppl are flexing and it's kinda subjective if a solo adds more than that

It's the riff that makes songs iconic. When you think of Master of Puppets, you think of the opening riff first, Kirk's solo second. Same with really most iconic songs, maybe with the exception of freebird.

See if you play rhythm in those ways you can almsot be considered both and then both guitars can be playing they’re own rhythm and lead parts respectively then throw in some more crazy scales and runs, I’ve always felt that’s how more band should be

Both win I've been practicing for a little bit and i do great with rhythm but solos not bad if simple but this with all the notes sounds great but its gonna take a while to get like this i have Andre the giant hands 😅 but thank you bernth for inspiring me to become a musician your videos is what drives me to not give up, stay focused, and enjoy playing 🤘🤘
