I gotta get home! I haven't been back to Rhode Island since 2002. We had a Carvalho family about 3 houses down on my street in Cumberland. Thanks for the video, my mouth was watering. I getting older now, I'd have to eat them for lunch cause they'd keep me up all night if I had them in the dinner... I mean for supper. 😀
I am from R I. And when you try to explain what a new York system hot weiner is they all insist it is a chilly dog. But he'll no it isn't, lol. And Onyville in Providence R.I has thee best ones in R I. Actually. It is a very small place, almost like a diner in fact. And back in the day you could literally get them 2 for a dollar. But you all must trust me, there is absolutely no comparison to a Chilli dog. They are addicting and so extremely yummy with fries and of course coffee milk, you may never want to go back home again I still beg my kids to bring me some way up here in Maine when they visit me, and the last time I went home to R I I stopped at onyville hot weiners and ordered over 40 dollars worth of this deliciousness 😋 just to share with the unknowns and my kids now in N.H. We love ❤ you Onyville hot weiners, wish that I still lived there, be back again soon. xo
I live in the hellhole called Massachusetts now but was born and raised in RI. I have a bottle of Autocrat in the fridge and get down there every year for some wienies. Been eating them since 1967 starting in Riverside at the "Hot Wienie Joint"....that's what we called it. 10 wienies up the arm....seems like yesterday.
The infamous " gut bomb" when your drunk, it's the only think worth eating. Don't drop a piece of onion in your car or you relive experience next morning as soon as you open the door. One of the only things I miss about R.I. !
I ate there both times I was in Providence. I'm sure there are other good places to eat in that city, but the hot weiners ain't broke so there's no need to fix them. Delumpcious.
Don't forget the glass of cawfee milk that goes with it... 3 all da way, for me. And it must be served on those melamine plates. Warning:You will be berated if anyone catches you putting ketchup on that perfection.
I never knew why they would not give out their secret recipes I know it's a secret. But when it comes to Coney dog sound or weiner so no one wants to get that out the recipe. Just crazy
RI is not noted for hotdogs except by Rhode Islanders. LOL But they also try so hard to belong to the pizza and chowder fame, but fail. Maybe their clam cakes but there's no RI-style food that is notable.
i always hate that guy called it a hot dog.... Its not a hot dog, its a hot wiener! Also makes hot dogs look disgusting! once you have one, never want a fucking hot dog again!!
