Good point about the quality of the camerawork, Simon. With typical grey, gloomy British skies, most people would have hours and hours of footage of silhouettes. Nigel really does know his stuff. :-)

PS: we had a few Phantoms here at Bae Filton for a while, a joy to watch but invariably they set off many car alarms in our car park adjacent to the runway!

@@e36s50b30 Yes the Collins Foundation does have a F-4D. It's the one and only flying F-4 in US. As far as I know.

Libs Hate Montesquieu there is actually one F-4D flying (see above comments). After the Golfs there were still quite a bunch of EQs flying. I believe the last USAF flight was in 2017.

Those F4Fs are former German Luftwaffe jets - were sold to Turkey a couple of years ago .

They are still used as target drones for the military.

Actually F-4s was a decent aircraft, but had lot of limiting factors. Fast and powerful, yes. But also had a tendancy to randomly pitch up which alot of F-4 pilots talked about. Also not very maneuverable, so in a dogfight it was usually toast. It' saving grace were the sparrow and sidewinder missile, so it didn't have to get into a turning fight.

Ironic that iconic favourites in the Harrier and Tornado were demonstrated by other countries who still operate them. Positve thoughts to get that ankle back in action!

Yes they arrived around six pm and big mistake leaving on what turned out to be false information that they would be late. Also arriving at the gate at 4am both arrivals days tends to make you not want to stay late! I hope you enjoyed a super arrivals day.

i believe the F-16 isn't that friendly to land but yes both not the landing the way that the pilots wanted!

I think the Typhoon displays Richthofen and the Tornado has Immelmann painted on the back. Both giving their names to the squadrons

Dale Long typical RIAT filler, they have been doing it for years. Cram the static area with F16s so they can claim to be the biggest air show in the world.

@@NigelWoolleyaviation Thank you nigel. Great plane! Worked on it in the 80's in Torrejon and Aviano Air bases. Wonderful plane to work on. Spain and Italy gave me some wonderful memories as a young buck with Dollars in his pocket. Hopefully next year I can make it to England for that wonderful Air Show.

How did you end up doing maintence in two different countries or was either Spanish or Italian military aircraft based at the other base? @@NigelWoolleyaviation Well, i use to know it inside out. I should've told you in the first comment that i was in the USAF for 6 years. I was stationed in Torrejon from1984 to 1986 and Aviano from 1986 to 1988. Great times. Temporary duty trips to Turkey, Greece, Germany.

It is sad but it is good to see a German 🇧🇪 tornados and typhoons I will not like the F35 my best plane will always be in my 💖 the Tornado GR4 👏 👍 and the F15

And the rabbit seems to like the Su-27 too!

This year there were less flyovers or go arounds compared to previous years but much of that seems to be determined by how tight the schedule is and if there is a gap in arrivals. This year the Romanians ran out of fuel whilst taxiing which shows that aircraft can have a distance to travel plus fuel limits if delayed in the circuit. Happy for anyone else to answer with regards to RIAT regulations.

charles ratcliff as far as I know the Phantom is no longer used by the Luftwaffe. Fully replaced by Typhoon by now

A2G role is done by Tornado. German F-4 were primarily A2A

Turkish Air Force F4 E Phantom until 2020
