@@delvikingjr5739 no I haven't it doesn't happen often but when it does it sucks maybe it's from the increase of activeness to be honest during the pandemic I stayed inside not doing much and now I'm out more
Here's a story about how I acquired chest discomfort and more. - I was in my first car accident about 3 Christmas's ago. I was driving my former Crown Victoria p71 right before winter came. I ended up driving onto black ice one night and i had no seatbelt on. My speed was 45-50mph, which was the limit. but I gained speed quickly once I started drifting, it was wet out and I never had problems before on wet surfaces. But the road I took was inclined at the side, so gravity forced me across the oncoming lane. It was really scary how it just suddenly happened. First thing I knew, I was driving on my side of the road, next thing I knew, the car up shifted because I was going uphill and we started drifting across the street. This happened around 11pm at night, hitting and coming to a dead stop at a telephone pole. During my short thinking window I could've either steered my car into the woods next to the pole, or just hit the pole, I chose the pole but I thought it'd be safer. We may have almost died, but we didn't and that's enough for me to not regret that decision. I'm kind of a beefy guy, and I really believe if it wasn't for the fat around my chest, I probably would've suffered worse injuries. I closed my eyes right before the impact, first thing i heard was the front bumper striking the thick brushes that surrounded the telephone pole. Next it was the impact. First feeling I felt while coming to a dead stop was my lower back muscles literally ripping and pulling as I tried to stay mildly relaxed and somewhat stiff in my seat with my hands on 11 and 2 position controlling the drift, again no seatbelt. I never got knocked unconscious, and I hit my head at least three separate ways in less than half a second. I opened my eyes to disaster. I felt no pain after the wreck, my adrenaline kicked in right once my back muscles got torn. My car engine died, someone drove past us and didn't stop while I oddly turned on my 4-ways while we were basically I the woods on the other side of the street facing oncoming traffic. My brother ended up getting worse head injury to his temple and eye socket. He started leaking blood from his nose, and was unresponsive. I really thought he died. He lived though and is back to the way he was. My whole chest cavity slammed against the steering wheel. To this day I still get discomfort on the right side of my chest, no sharp pains there, but i feel as if something is slipping, Its like a popping sensation when I lay on my right side. I kept thinking it was my liver swelling up from my unhealthy eating habits. I've also had pretty sharp pain in my upper back from time to time since the wreck, it would come out of nowhere and go away on its own. It would make my whole chest cavity buzz in pain if I moved and I'd feel discomfort when I breathed deeply. Top of my head spider webbed the windshield, my teeth came into contact with the top part of my steering wheel too. It knocked the front 4 teeth out of place and chipped one of my top teeth. I really thought I was gonna lose all those teeth.(ended up just biting down nonstop for 4-5 days until I felt no wiggle from the teeth and no pain when I bit down on them. I haven't had health insurance since I turned 18 and moved out. I'm about to be 22 here in November and I plan to go get it so I can actually go get looked at. Almost any "symthoms" I feel I never pay attention to because I'm so used to feeling pain it's normal for me.) I also slammed my head against the support beam that goes from the body up to the roof of the car. I had no health insurance at the time, and I was in a very tight spot. I ended up lying to the doctors at the E.R cause i was afraid they'd call the police because my vehicle wasn't fully legal and my license was suspended(you know, stuff young people get scared of). It was a real shit show and I really could've handled the aftermath better now looking back since I've matured. The nurses and doctors knew I been through a trauma, my adrenaline was racing for hours til they gave me something for it to subside. They told me that I tore a lot of lower back muscles after a CT scan, but never told me about my concussion. They discharged me, and few days later I felt extremely light headed, I couldn't keep my balance without a cane, and felt like puking. Eventually went back and they told me about the concussion like they expected me to already know that. I have felt like a different person ever since that wreck. For some reason, I don't find importance in much of my past. I been feeling.. distant from my past, like it's hard to believe that I lived the life I have so far. I acquired a slight stutter when I never had one and I lost a lot of vocabulary that i used to know in high school. I've been through a lot trying to get my life right after graduating have high school, but I never got the support I needed to take flight. I just kept failing and failing at trying to make something of myself and so eventually my life led me up to that life changing wreck. I had extremely severe depression after that wreck and I had to also raise 11 large breed puppies in my mom's basement. Those pups helped me mentally, but only for the time I was around them. My family kept asking me to cook dinner, and other household chores literally once I get back from the hospital, it was like to them, I didn't suffer from anything or it never happened because I can take pain way better than others. They used me at my worst and that time era I can never forget. It's burned into my head and I tear up every time I think about the whole thing and how it all went. I'm really trying to do everything right come next month. It just sucks, I never felt more alone in my life than sitting in that car trying to wake up my unconscious brother while I'm crying thinking he died from impact while I never even got knocked unconscious. I also got my identity stolen from the car because I left to go to the hospital but didn't call the police. They eventually came to my home and confronted me about it. And they said they never grabbed my identity documents. Now I been unemployed for over a year and now that my bday is coming up, I want to start a new and try again at becoming independent and successful, but I want to get my body checked cause I plan to lose a lot of weight and gain a lot of muscle. I haven't been generally happy in years. - Sorry for the length i just hope whoever sees this loves to read like me haha. I can't tell part of a story without giving it whole. I really can't thank you enough for this video, I've been wondering for years what this discomfort could be and you gave me the best break down of what I most likely be suffering from.
So sorry to hear of the accident you were in.. having read your story I hope and pray you have took the challenge on to change your life and turn it around. I can't imagine how painful a broken ribs are, the first day after I sprained my intercostal muscle, I was in hell. everytime I tried to sit up or bend over, I felt like I was taking a liver shot from Tyson. Hope everyone feels better soon!
Very painful, I can't take a very deep breath, it hurts if I sit too long, last night only slept 4 hrs if I move when sleeping and lean on that side the pain wakes me up, it will probably be a month before I can get back to my lifestyle, my exercise routine. I'm pissed. I told my husband, do you love me, he said yes, then go break the guys rib for me 😁😁

I hit my sternum twice within 9 days after crashing. 13 days after the first injury, I coughed and it felt like my sternum came loose. Went to the ER and no injuries showed up on the X-Rays.
Woke up one day to experience this awful pain. Can’t lay down on my left side, cant laugh or breath properly! I’ve not experienced any injuries that I recall though !
Another thing would look into maybe stress. Intercostals tend to tighten and be painful during anxiety states. Hence why so many patients come into the er thinking they have a heart issue. Best of luck my dudes. Long road but chronic pain tends to get better with well being and destressing
Great explanation. I haven't been able to find a Dr to help me with my rib, but ive recently started doing Iyengar yoga and it has helped tremendously. Back adjustments and tens unit weren't getting done for me.
This is the best explanation I've seen for this problem.. I fell 8 ft onto the corner of a wall in my spine 8 years ago.. doctors wouldn't even scan me for a year and a half.. as usual they say no problem.. go and carry on.. I was a full time barber but now cant work in my profession atal. Everytime I try to strengthen my back my rib spasms out and I can barely stand for a couple of mins and have a couple days of extreme pain.. thank you for posting this explanation as I will use it to guide my own explanation. I am in the uk so unfortunately I cant get to you. But thank you again.
If I sleep on my sides, my rib cage will legit start hurting, I’m not lying just recently I was freaking out running around the house because it hurts so bad, it feels like a burning pain to me, and it’s hard for me to breath. Like 3 minutes ago it stopped and now I’m scared to go back to sleep..
Hit it with a massive amount of Ibuprofen for at least 2-3 days (3 pills per day, 600 mg). If you take less it kinda works but will not knock out the inflamed ribs. You might have to repeat this after a week or so. Do not take this much Ibuprofen every day for weeks if you value your liver, kidneys and your life over the long haul.

Thank you for such great visuals and explanation! I broke the cartilage of my ribs and have also had pain in my shoulder and mid back and now I know why.
I have been experiencing this rib pain for over than 2 years... believe it or not I have lived right in Narberth, PA years ago... And I really need you now that I don't live there anymore! :(
Did you find any solution?? 1.Please do yoga related to thoracic region... 2.Restore your upright posture. 3. Avoid inflammatory diet 4. Atleast 5 km walk /everyday 5.deep diaphragmatic breathing. 6.plus relaxation music. 7.avoid too much soft mattress. 8.use lumber back support when you sit. 9.use yogurt or kafeer for probiotics, which are important for Better immune system. Tell me if you need more detailed information.
Thank you! You stated the same things that my "sports medicine" doctor told me when I went in for rib injuries. I tried lifting a piece of furniture and strained too much which caused a loud pop in my ribs and a stabbing pain. After a week it was still painful so I went to him and after taking x-rays and seeing that there were no fractures he gave me a spinal adjustment. The next day I was feeling much better although the ribs are slightly sensitive to touch. I expect that to be gone within a day or two.
My right rib hurt but it's only mild pain and I'm very very anxious about it, but i can still do my every day routine. When i didn't sit proper my ribs hurts but when i straight my back the pain lessen tell me if i should seek a doctor
I’m realizing this is way more common than i thought. We must pray because gosh it seems like it’s nothing we can do. I sat down too hard and now my chest back and under my arms are hurting. Sitting up is the worst. I’m almost a week out from my accident. I had a 4 wheeler accident and landed directly on my chest. It makes me feel better I’m not alone but i hate it for us all🥺🙏🏾
Like my rib cage pain comes and goes, and everytime I sneeze, cough or breathe it doesnt hurt so idk what's going on but can someone help me out here I'm really scared and I dont wanna pass.
@@hopetheelfpet2324 The gospel is a proclamation of who Jesus is and what He did for His elect only. The word GOSPEL means “good news. The Good News then is what is taught about something good. This teaching is found in Scripture Alone. The Scripture teaches that God is Holy.God’s Holiness and Sovereignty demand Holiness (complete perfection) from every human.Humanity has sinned, fallen from perfection, and commits sins because we are sinners.God is His holiness is required to be just, therefore, the just condemnation for sin is death. Therefore all men are dead spiritually and will die physically and will enter into a second death eternally. So what’s the good news? God sent the Son, fully God, fully man, born of a virgin, prophesied forever, to live as a human being.Jesus is His name. He is the Christ (messiah), or the Holy Anointed of God.He lived a life of absolute perfection without any sin before God as a man.He then died a death that He did not deserve in order to take the punishment (death) of sinners. His death Atoned (paid for) the sins of His people.Jesus’ death satisfied the wrath of God justly, because He substituted in life (obedience) and death (punishment) for His people.God, through the hearing of this truth, brings to life sinners and causes them to be born again to a living hope in Jesus Christ.Jesus rose from the dead and lives today in order to vindicate all His claims and promises. Therefore, Christ has taken the wrath of God from all who believe, those for whom He died and their sins will be held against them no more. The good news then is that those who trust in this redemption through this God-man Jesus, have eternal life.
@@mssmith142 The true gospel is the good news of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, it is concerning who Christ is and what He did to save His elect only. The gospel includes the how and why, which can only be seen by faith. It is a message that declares how the eternal Son of God came down, took on a body of sinless flesh (John 1:14) as He was born of a virgin (Mat 1:23). He was both God and man in one Person. He was born under the Law to keep and fulfill it (Mat 5:18, Gal 4:4). He did that, not for Himself, but for all those He represented because they could not keep it themselves. The word of God calls these people the elect or His sheep, among several other names. His obedient life also included the part of dying. He took on the sin of His people as both a Substitute and Representative of those people. The Bible said He was "made to be sin" (II Cor 5:21) and the way that was done is by God imputing (legally reckoned or charged to the account of) sin to Christ. That means all the sin of all those people God chose was "laid on Him" (Isaiah 53:6). This sin was legally transferred to His account and He then owned it in such a way to be guilty of it all. God the Father poured out His wrath and hatred toward sin on His Son and had pleasure (Isaiah 53:10) in doing so, in that, He was completely satisfied in Christ as a Sacrifice that met all the demands of His strict Law and inflexible justice. Christ finished the work of paying the penalty of the Law and then said " It is finished" (John 19:30). He secured salvation for all God’s chosen people that would even be born. His resurrection is evidence of the acceptance of His sacrifice to the Father. The combined work of His obedience to the Law and His obedience unto death on the cross was considered establishing righteousness. This is what one of the Old Testament prophets prophesied as "bringing in an everlasting righteousness" (Daniel 9:24) as Christ died effectually and exclusively for those chosen of God before the world began (Eph 1:4). This righteousness is what God imputes to His people in the context of giving the life to believe in Christ. This puts them in a state called "Justification" and as a result they are eternally secure, in Christ. This is the gospel (Rom 1:16-17). All this takes place in such a way to show God as both a God of justice and a Savior. This is how grace reigns through righteousness (Rom 5:21).

Hi Sean, thanks for your comment. We know these conditions can be extremely frustrating and difficult to treat. To schedule, you can do so on the following link: www.rebalancept.com/contact/
Two ways that cures my rib pain: 1) Chop 2 or 3 pieces of fresh garlic and with a glass of water swallow it like the way to take tablets. Do this twice a day you’ll see a great improvement! Trust me it works! I have been going through this rib pain without fractures after a fall I recently had. So I know what I am talking about. Plus this I also do the next. 2) Heat some water from your stovetop; pour it in a small bucket or in a box( whatever you please to use) Fold and Soak a small towel in the hot water ( not a kind of hot water that will burn your skin) squeeze the water out the towel with both of your hands and put the hot towel on the affected area press little bit on it for 30 to 50 second so that the heat from the towel will enter that particular area to heal you! Repeat this until you feel that there’s no more heat in the water. Also do this twice a day. I suggest you have someone that you trust to do this kind of massage for you while you Peacefully lay yourself down. You will feel amazing! These are some amazing remedies! Do both until you are pain free.
Elise Avity Noku i will try this i met with scooter accident and had below chest scratches now which have developed into pain. Also i have wet cough with green phlegm developed now and when i cough it pains in the left rib
I’ve had pain in a rib in my back below the shoulder blade for over a decade. I had xrays that showed nothing, bone scan with contrast that showed a large area of inflammation in my thoracic spine, and an mri which showed several discs herniated and/or degenerating and a old compression fracture of the T11 vertebra. I had an epidural block that did nothing. I’ve never believed that the pain radiates out from the spine. It feels very much like the pain originated in the rib area. It feels like a knife stuck in my back and can be debilitating. But when doctors see the condition of my thoracic spine they feel like that’s what they should treat. The only thing that has ever helped is laying down. So when it gets bad I have to go on bed rest. I know it’s easier to treat what you can see than what you can’t, but why can’t they grasp that whenever my spine was injured I could’ve injured other areas nearby as well?
Hi Misty, It could be a combination of muscles spasm, trigger points causing imbalance and then problems around the rib cage joints and the thoracic spine. Hard to know without an evaluation...we treat many at our clinic where the pain was actually coming from the cervical spine so that is something that could also be causing issues that appear to be coming from the rib/thoracic spine...or it could be a combination of cervical/thoracic and rib cage. You could consider having a video case management consult with us if you can't find help near you: calendly.com/hinashethpt/60min-non-local?back=1&month=2020-07
Rebalance Physical Therapy Thank you. At this point I will no longer see anyone who doesn’t believe me when I say the origin of the pain is not in the spine. I’ve spent over a decade with this and seen several experts. The last orthopedist suggested another epidural block. I just said no and never went back. Now the pain radiates from the spot where it feels like the invisible knife is down into my hip and around my rib cage toward the front. I’m absolutely convinced the problems radiate FROM that spot not TO it. If it can’t be imaged, I’m not sure what anyone can do for me. I’m

They did all the tests. Everything came back normal. Later that week. I was dealing with so much pain. There have been incidents where I would loose consciousness do to having a seizure. I saw my doctor and he said it could be rib contusions. I though the pain was gone. It has came back.

I work out a lot and I’ve been having pain on both sides of my ribs under neath my chest it doesn’t hurt when I touch it or breathe no tenderness just achy
I worked for FedEx in my area just for the season. Midway through I pulled something min my right rib. It wasn't a fracture but either a muscle or other tissue. I'm 42 and I'm thin (5' 9", 140 lbs.) so there isn't really much tissue in the area. Hurt like a son of a b**ch. Was able to get some heavy packages removed from my truck and just dealt with it. Didn't recover quick but within 8 weeks, I was doing good. Keep in mind. The medical community can't do squat for pulled rib tissue (or even a fracture since they can't rap it), so don't waste your money or time. Only go if you have a low tolerance for pain or a completely broken rip (or shattered rib). Otherwise, learn to rest and move little. Remember, the medical community will destroy your bank account because they can get away with it. Even using old fashion methods and tech that should only cost no more than $50.00 will cost you at least $550.00. Price gouging thieves. Never call a doctor unless you have no other choice.
i have bruised ribs around 3 weeks ago , it went away but my left ribs still hurting its not much but when i try to sit up it felt like needle shoot at my left rib and so i eat my medicine and all but sometimes i had trouble with breathing , my back hurts my shoulder too and I remember this one time my jaw suddenly hurting along with my neck i didnt poop for a long time its always once or two times a week too, i often pee though because i keep drinking water because im too anxious 😅 i thought it was normal because im going through a recovery phase so i didnt think too much about it until yesterday i got this burn feeling below my breast its so damn hard to breath that i keep drinking cold water , today its hurting too when i sat up to play my phone im so scared is it dangerous? should i seek for medical help immediately?

I am experiencing a punch like pain in my mid ribs between my side and spine everytime I cough and much worse when I sneeze. We are in lockdown so have only had phone advice, we don't xray ribs here. It was six weeks since I fell against the edge of the kitchen unit...
i know i did not injure myself my pain feels like its in the muscle hurts to move and even hurts to look down it;s constant pain that worsen;s when i move
Good information. My mistake was not realising what REST actually meant - trying to restart activities too early has set me back a couple of times. As my GP seemed to think my rib problem (over a large area) was trivial and didn't even prescribe any pain killers I thought I was being soft and did stuff I shouldn't have done - don't make that mistake.
I ran on the sand on uneven beach everyday for few month then I got pain on whole rib cage even on back of rib cage. I stoped running but now 3.5 month past and I still have pain on sternum and upper back + my shoulder. How long yours took to gets better? REPLY

Hi.. My chest pain is for more than 5 years ,these days it's worst when I squeeze or bend chest . I already went to Doctor many times, and the tests including CT scan , Xray, ECG, ETT , and blood tests are normal. Need help. Thanks.
So i was doing leg press on this machine, like the one in this video. After doing 1 set 10 reps; on 2nd set about 5 reps in, i felt a pop on my rib. After that i got up and it was paining on the last 3rd-4th rib. It was not a very sharp pain but I couldn’t finish my 2nd set. After that it pains whenever im lifting the exercise that includes core engagement. Have i broken my rib? What it is??? I weigh 77 kg and weight on the machine was 200 kg.

I’m an mma fighter and took a pretty good knee to the left #6 rib. Can you tell those of us with rib pain a good plan of care to help speed up recovery time? Thank you in advance. Edited for grammar.
I am in Uganda, my friend got an accident one month ago, the doctors told her that the ribs doesn't have any fracture but she still feels pain when she sleeps and while breathing once in while. Which medicine can she buy and take so that she can recover from the pain.
@@i.ncreator9918 thank you for your reply. But it's been 5 days now and today was the worst. I literally was having difficultly taking in a full breath. And the pain was so bad i was unable to sit. I had some pain killers, laid down on my left side and pit a hot water bottle on my ribs. Took around an hour for the pain to decrease and being able to breathe easier. This pain is all on my right side from the top rib, down the middle of right side and round to the back. I just woke up like this. I do suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and fibro myalgia. I was just worried that this osnt my lung and covid-19.
This is me. It’s been 10 days and it feels like a rib is at least fractured in my back, but maybe it’s just bruised. Also you explain exactly what I suspected-that I’m experiencing radiating pain aside from the point I hit in my back and it’s probably because of a cascading pattern into surrounding muscles.
@@immeraiah5411 It got better on its own, but I remember that it took weeks to heal and sucked. I couldn’t even roll out of bed a few times I remember. Back/rib injuries can suck so much because you don’t realize how everything can fall apart because so many of your muscle groups work in tandem with each other. If you have an injury stay very hydrated, eat very nutritiously, and give your body as much rest as you can! Also exercise if you can, but obviously nothing that could immediately worsen an existing injury.
Thank you for this video, for the time you took in explaining. Everything you mention I am going through. I've been in the ER four times, am going to chiro but just seem that he make adjustments and then pain travels to other parts. first was my sternum chest, then my lower ribs, then my lower back I couldn't sit down, ans know I don't have pain, it's just slight pressure. But now my arms and back are killing me I twist my arm and shoulders click,if I lift my left arm my spine cracks if I press my pectoral my back rib crack. my question is what do you call this illness? Please and Thank you God bless.
Cristian, I have had a problem similar to yours for many years. Chronic pain is hell I know. Have you found much help for your condition? Could you email me if you get this message and let me know? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, nevetland@gmail.com
