Been looking at these Ribble's for a few months now. I went into Pure Electric while visiting Bristol on Friday just to have a nosy around and they had a couple of Orbea Gain's so I asked the guy if I could have a go. After a couple of very enjoyable laps around Cabot Circus I took the plunge and finally ordered the CGR. The motor didn't do much around the city centre as the route was relatively dlat with only one short climb but in the hills around where I live in West Cornwall the motor will be a godsend I think. Just a pity that the estimated delivery date is December 31st 😔. Good to watch these review videos though as I'm sure i've made the right choice going with the Ribble and the Ultegra drivetrain. Thanks for the walkaround Bob.

Great interesting video Bob, you have a nice easy to watch and listen to style and I look forward to seeing more videos from you, particularly about heart rate because I am recovering from atrial fibrillation and that is the reason I am interested in getting an ebike, I just liked and subscribed, best wishes, Tom

Hi Bob, good review. I have been looking at this bike as here in North Devon there are quite a few hills I have to negotiate on several routes and I am struggling somewhat up the steeper inclines. Although I class myself as a fit 60yr old I could do with a gentle push on the steeper sections (generally I use the back 'roads') . I have read several reports that the motor Ribble use doesn't help that much on these steeper climbs, would appreciate your thoughts. Cheers 👍

Were you able to test this engine? If so, what was your conclusion regarding the doubt you had? Does it help enough on the hills? thank you.

I wish they would up the speed limit to 18 mph at least . I need to try a hub drive. Been on a Vado sl that’s my friends . And when the motor cuts out it’s brutal. I ride a non assisted road bike at 16-19 mph. But struggling with the Vado . The Vado is great up hills . Feel like a hub drive might ride with less drag . Our government are missing the trick with the speed limits limit. Considering that on some downhills. I could overtake cars when the limit is 30 . I don’t . But I’m definitely going faster than 16

Ciao Tony, --if you prefer me to talk in english, i will write again everything using it-- :) Perdonami se ti scrivo qua, ma sotto il post del blog dedicato ai kit per le e-bike ho provato svariate volte senza mai riuscirci.

Hi Bob if you use it without motor on, are still driving the all the gears in the hub motor , I think with the Bosch performance cx on my cube mountain bike I don’t think it disengages from the motor when off.and it’s imposable to cycle without some assistance .and feels like you are peddling with brakes on.

@@ebikechoices thanks for your feed back on the motor Bob yes presumed it wouldn’t push you like Bosch, but it’s a lot lighter bike than the e mountain bike.
