This is probably the best demonstration of a ribbon tweeter i've seen... Thank you

Kraftwerk , good choice

Where can I find a magnet like those? I'm building a transconductance topology amp for ribbon transducers (their impedance is very low for normal amps and they'll short them) and I already sourced the ribbons. Need magnets so I can play and validate.

Hello, i was woundering about the DC resistance in that piece of alluminiums foil, is'nt that extremely low so it will load your amilifire used in orange generator/amplifire box, too hard? Could one use normal kitchen alluminium foil? Also, the magnet, can one just buy some neodunium squared magnets like these: www.banggood.com/5pcs-N50-Super-Strong-Block-Cuboid-Magnets-60x10x4-mm-Rare-Earth-Neodymium-Magnet-p-984120.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN and fasten them in distance like your setup?

What happens if you rotate the magnetholder 90 deg. ?
@PhysicsOnline
@PhysicsOnline 6 лет назад
It would just go side to side - but due to the shape of the foil it wouldn't flex as far so it would be even quieter.
@royrogers7644
@royrogers7644 6 лет назад
Ok, understand. Will you get a louder sounding ribbon if you use ultrastrong neodymium magnets instead of ordinary ferritemagnets?
@PhysicsOnline
@PhysicsOnline 6 лет назад
That could be possible. The force on the wire depends on the current, the length of wire in the field and also the strength of the magnetic field. So a similar sized neodymium magnet should make the sound louder.

What is the DC resistance on the ribbon? 0.001 Ohm? it must be a very high capacitance value if you want to cut frequencies under 10kHz with just one cap in series. 15000-20000uF?
