Einstein indicated, which is a consequence of his Special Relativity Theory, that death is an illusion. So far, the Special Relativity Theory is holding up. Therefore, Ric and Ben are still alive but in a different Space-Time from ours.

@@jkj10 Exactly, Ric had kind of funny tone that didn´t suit with any serious song, and ben has the perfect loud voice that suit in many cars songs (the better ones), but i think ben was underrated, he has a unique timeless voice. kind of sad how they finished up

Ric wrote this song and first sang it. The original version was recorded in his home studio on a Tascam 8tk 1/2". I know this to be true because I am the person who transferred the original tape to Roy Thomas Baker's 40tk 2" at SyncroSound for the rest of the band to learn. Honest

@@ks-ix6xz Written by Ric, sung by Ric on his tape for the band to hear. But Benjamin Orr sang it on the album and all concerts until his death. Ric started to sing it live after Ben's death. I agree with Christopher Conville, I think he sang it as a tribute to Ben.

Ric was a great song writer. After hearing Ben sing it, no one can do it better than Ben. I appreciate the fact that Ric continued it on both as a writer of the song, and keep the song alive. But Ben just sang it with Bens style, perfection..

His bracelet. Dominoes of nine dots. Benny 11 Letters (Ben Orr) had a domino patch of eleven dots on one of his jacket sleeves. I'd love to know why Ric's are nine. Beautifully played, Ric - thank you. And thanks Donna for posting.

@@benjaminorrelectricangelro5493 I think it is in regards to Ric's stage first and last name being 9 letters total. Benjamin Orr has 11 letters total, so it would make sense why Ric would follow the same pattern.

@Lisa Surlie Big European immigration to the U.S. and Canada after the 2nd World War (my parents included, I am first generation Canadian). A lot of people anglicized their last names. Or shortened them like Ben did. Orr was also the last name of a hockey superstar who played defense for the Boston Bruins, where The Cars were based.

Probably wasn't easy singing this song when your Bandmate Friend Ben sang this song too memories they had together early begining Grind playing at Bars writing traveling across East Coast find Right Band mates and establish a New Unique Signature Sound back in late 70s Album after Album threw the 80s, I'm sure Ric thinks of those moments before and after singing this Song and says this one is for you Ben. They had much success and the rest is History. Ric and Ben Classy Gentlemen
