I’ve Ben a cars fan sense the beginning Ric has a voice like no other thru the years I bought all the tapes he ever made even the ones he did on his own like in 1982 1986 1991 1993 1996 1997 2005 then 2011 with the group without Ben Rip to the both of you will forever be my favorite group of all time. I listen all the time also Bens great CD The lace 1986 I have them all just wondering This song I’m listening to right now from Ric sunshine in 2015 was this his last song recorded and was that his Doughter who didn’t speak to him she looks like him a little greatly missed Take care all
Everloving Ric Ocasek , i like this song very much , Ric talks with his Heart and the Music ist brilliant , So like Drive ! but in another Way , but it is everytime the right Way , to save Hearts and bring them to a nice Place or everywhere they like in Peace and Love
There's a cold and restless one That floats in through the night There's a place you must begin And it sits beyond your sight But I feel like going back someday To the land beyond the seas Because it holds me in a special way Like the feathers in the breeze The sun is shining in my life That's what you're a shooting star 🌠 The sun is shining in my life That's what you're my morning star 🌟 There is a cold and restless one That floats in through the night
Ric seems to like doing things in a low-key and simpler way these days. I don't blame him -- _Heartbeat City_ and _This Side of Paradise_ were mammoth productions in which every millisecond was accounted for; I'm sure we all know HC took a year to record. It's easier to record faster these days. Anyway, this is a nice song, it leaves me with conflicted feelings (as all of Ric's best work does), and I just don't know what to think about the video at all. As a fan, I would have liked to see Ric appear in it, but I suppose there's more art to this video than just fan service. I always considered the lyrics printed on the sleeve to be just as important as the vinyl records within them.
Actually this was Milkwood Ric making a return on this track. Ric sang on the majority of the Milkwood tracks on their only album "How's The Weather?" Milkwood was a few years before The Cars.
Hey, Ric! Do you plan to make this track available for purchase? I'd love to give it a few spins on Alumni Radio along with the Cars tracks we play from 'Move Like This'. www.alumniradio.net "Playing Brand New Tracks From Iconic Acts"
