All blessings go to Ricardo Lockette...what people fail to realize is that this man is so lucky to even be alive, football is the toughest sport to play and the fact that he's not paralyzed and able to tell his story is a blessing in itself...much respect to the man!!!
Dolphins 2021🔥 why? He didn’t do it on purpose and obviously lockette doesn’t believe heath owes him anything. It was the classy thing to do, but he didn’t owe it to him. Both players handled it with class though
Dolphins 2021🔥 oh I completely agree, that shows shitty character, to not check because it shows that they really have no empathy for others. But I don’t think it’s a given for him to call and check on him. A lot of people wouldn’t, or maybe they would apologize publicly but not personally. He doesn’t owe him that, but as a cowboy fan, I’m glad he did because it was definitely the right thing to do. But there’s players in the league who intentionally hurt others and don’t apologize, so I definitely don’t think he was owed, Bit I’m glad that he was checked on by heath.
He got to live a dream many hasn't had the chance to, plus he gain a completely different perceptive on life. He was a good player too, wish him well throughout life
+ASE He had some great hands, didn't play much at WR though. One of the best special teams guys I've seen. But you never know what could've happened over his career
@@warriorcp123 dependable wide receiver when you needed them and they legit special teamer. There's a lot of guys on a roster that you can't name or put numbers to their contributions, but they make big plays and they do their job.
I hate how people love when players get hurt. That just pisses me off. No one should ever wish a player to be hurt. I'm a cowboys fan too and when I seen this hit I felt bad for this man. I'm glad to see he's ok
Your actually fucked up for wishing his career to be over for a dirty hit a few years ago by that logic if someone face masks someone they deserve to have there career over?
Jay Toddz ok so I had like one punctuation error so i cant spell and you still just said only players you hate thats equivalent to disliking someone then praying they get shot dumbass
he was the best special teams defensive player for years in my opinion! as a hawks fan i will never forget his contribution to seattle! and mike rob on the interview! nice touch! GO HAWKS!
mutch respect ricardo..if your reading this you have changed lives and you will continue to prosper if you keep the man above in your life..god bless you
Rockinxsteve how he is saying that even though his team was the one that hit and ended a players career, that he respects lockette and knows it shouldn’t have happened
its football. injuries happen. no one i believe has any true lethal intention of taking someone out or forever damaging another player's career. human life should come first in any situation. im glad he got chance to play the game he loved. got paid for it also. but most importantly he was able to see another day standing on his own and being with his family. no money can substitute that if you are not around in this world.
Henley Deng Only person who has lethal intentions is Nadamukong Suh, I mean he is a good DT but all his fines that he had is like damm, he can't control himself
Henley Deng Remember the New Orleans bountygate? When they were paying out bonuses for injuring other players. Good times. Just kidding, no. But you get what I'm saying? There are always humans attacking other humans to injure another in the name of football. It's not always fun and games for some.
That’s unfortunate. The NFL, and honestly the world in general, need a lot more people like this, who live their life with this same attitude. Seems like a down to earth, genuine guy. Glad he came out of it alright.
For him to retire basically in his prime....he had to think about that long and hard...I respect him for his decision..and God will keep him blessed no matter what decision he made.
Ricardo: You are one class act! I have only admiration, respect, and affection for you, and I am very thankful that I will one day get to know you in heaven. Keep up the good work and keep looking upwards!
I remember Being in the hospital room with a fractured arm And hearing my dad say No more football I started crying so much because it was Amazing but I’m back now Couldnt play for 6 months
I never got anywhere close to the NFL when i played football but all players pay a tribute of blood, sweat and tears at the altar of the football gods for glory on the field. We all are aware of the risks that accompany the pursuit of greatness. Im just glad for Lockett that hes ok and that he had the courage and clarity to walk away.
I remember playing running routes with this guy down in Fort Valley. I just remember him being super explosive and could jump out the gym.Glad he got a chance to make it to the league.
Jeff Heath was really upset about this too. I remember him speaking after the game and he was on the verge of tears. It was a clean play, bang bang play, just one of those moments in football. Heath is a meatwad and Ricardo is a skinny lankey guy and those two meeting at those speeds is a bad mix. The look on Heath's face he looked sick it really hurt him and honestly he hasn't been the same player since this hit.
He might "only" have 22 catches for 451 yards and 4tds in the NFL. But he spent 5 years in the league and won a title, thats a hell of an accomplishment in itself. More than I or the vast majority of us did or will ever do
I didn't know what he had under his belt speaking as catches and yards and TDS until your comment, but if you ask me that is actually impressive to have 22 catches for 451yards. That's averaging juss a bit more than 20yards a catch
Joey S Not really I was watching the game ( Cowboys fan yes in 2015 we did exist ) Jeff Heath was running straight at him Ricard had a second to react and he didn't have the momentum like Heath did Too me it was a Chep shot
Definitely more of a cheap shot than the titans broncos one that wasn't even cheap it was just a block we do it down here in high school lvl called taking out there ankles
Marcus Mariota I watched it too. I've been a Cowboys fan since birth, 1998. Either way it wasn't cheap, he still had time to react. Momentum or not. And I feel like the one in that game was cheap. Because he went straight for his kneecap when there was no need to. And yea it's a chop block, I play football in high school.
Hats off to Ricardo Lockette, what a class act. Sad story and I wish we got to see him play longer, but thats what football is sometimes. When they sign those twenty million dollar contracts, they sign away their time and bodies for that organization. Its the sport we love and choose to play. He isn't the first and he won't be the last. Trying to make football more safe every year will eventually ruin the sport. I agree we should care about the well- being of every player, but this is just as much a part of football as the extra point. Lockette just happened to be the unlucky guy, who when you think about the circumstances is truly very lucky. God bless him and the sport of football.
What Staley said. Superstar??? Few teams would even let him play a single down in his five years. One time that they did, he lay down on the ground and lost a Super Bowl singlehandedly. Don't over exaggerate. Nice guy, great post-football career, but he was terrible as an NFL player.
@@Bill_Woo I watched every game he played . He had it all athletically to become something really special . But yeah needed time to reach his full potential . Big ,fast physically strong tough match up.
Man no body hating... that’s football, as a Seahawks fan I’m happy he’s at peace with it... richardo is a rider... a real one... god has a plan for him and he’s ok with with... real recognize real...Marshawn was the only one who stayed back and cool’d with him at the hospital after the injury... this man straight. One of my favorite Seahawks, he’s straight in my book. Good luck to you lock...
Remember watching that injury live, in a way it's good he had a short career, the hits add up, and he got out of the life with fame and fortune, without persistent little injuries other than that wake-up call.
