@@beckyk2917 - I can only surmise that, because they have been dancing together for a decade, and even longer before they became a pair, and because they recently finally gave in to their love for one another and married, they're looking forward to building a family and want now to turn their attention to that. Smart move to retire while still on top of the sport. But what a loss for the sport. I'll miss them awfully!

Yulia, you have been an inspiration to me as a pro am dancer for many years, when I was just " finding my way" as a dancer, much less competing as one. I'm late discovering Ricardo and Yulia and am loosing sleep looking at old videos of their competitions. 😴 The chemistry between them comes through the screen, they're an awesome pair. I saw an interview where they spoke on what they liked about each other, it was so touching. Best of luck in whatever their future plans may be.
God put you two together to beautify our world! I am a 63 yr old widow with severe rhuematoid arthritis I just had a hip replacement. Both of my shoulders were completely replaced, left knee replacement, both feet fused and lower back is fused together. I lost my husband of 35 years (I met him when I was 16 and he was 20) 13 years ago. I met a wonderful man, I was so lonely, 11 yrs ago and am very blessed AGAIN! But I watch you dance, you exude love, you both are perfect together. When I found the wedding video, oh my, gorgeous, I was so happy that you are married! I was hoping you were together off the dance floor too. The beauty of the love you have both for each other and your craft. God blesses you both and then Blessed us by sharing you with the world!. And thank you for this video, because I wanted to know more about you! I wanted to know about you both growing up and when did you start dancing and how you met. Peace to you.
Gorgeous. They dance as one, yet no team is more individuals. I watch Yulia and Riccardo over again many times to see the back and forth. So much detail, nuance. A kaleidoscope of movement. They both encompass everything the art of dancing is. I’m so happy to see these videos, like tea cup and pas de double in the red full gown, opposite ends of the dramatic spectrum. They remind me of wild horses moving freely. What I take away is the feeling of the force of life. Just breathtaking. Bravo! Bravo!
