Hello buddies,
I am Siya, a female Shih Tzu, born on Feb 2020. My mom started giving me home made lunch after turned 3 months old. This one is my absolute favourite :)

Dog needs a balanced diet everyday giving dal n rice can't make them healthy.they need good lean meat.less carb

@@englishvinglish374 thanks.I gave him chicken based food but he never liked it.He takes boiled egg daily once ( Vet allowed him 1 egg per day) .Sweet potatoes in noon and dates or cookies for snacks

You can give him duck, My dog was allergic to chicken I switched to duck, Yes it is expensive than chicken but it is cheap than mutton! Don't forget to take the skin off it it's high in fat, And yes keep rotationg meats from mutton, goat, duck and fish it will give your dog variety if you only give one type of meat every time it will allergic to it so keep rotating meats

I have a 7 month old shih tzu. Morning 6 am 2 spoons kibbles. 11 am 1 dasa with boiled veggies. 5 pm curd rice with boiled veggies. 9pm kibbles 2 spoon

I was told by experienced pet parents not to give dal more than once a day, also only in small quantities. I would also suggest the same.

Hey just wanna ask if shitzu can survive on vegetarian diet as we follow strictly vegetarian diet at home we cant feed our dog any sort of non veg stuff So will it be good for him if we feed him with full protiens fibre through veg food only?

I know a friend who's pet survives on Veg diet. But as far as I've heard from experts, dogs would really love to have some Non Veg diet, at least eggs.

Some soaked beans if fresh beans are not available. White of egg for baby shih tzu, chicken soup, turnip, sweet potato, carrot. They need all the vitamins , minerals and protein for their bones, teeth, shiny hair. I saw in some videos coconut oil being put in the porridge but no salt or sweet. Give them mashed banana, tomato juice, apple slice ,cucumber, spinach etc. Salads and curd only in day time. My girl loves to eat leaves from plants. I give her some washed " Doob" ( grass) Give them a slice of peach, but not too much otherwise they will have loose motion. We always used to give homeopathic medicines to them ( like humans)

Veggies are good but they are canines meat is their main source . You should feed royal canine must even if it's little . It's for your puppies health .

I hv been making porridge with powder of rice and soya chunks with a table spoon of Royal Canin starters . I add chopped beans and grated pumpkin and a bit jeera powder ( to control loose motion)and turmeric in it.powder cooks very fast! I will stop adding Royal Canin starters ! Only fresh fruits, veggies and whatever we eat. They love curd also! I add some water to curd to make it light for her.

Yes, you can give it regardless of the age. As long as the paste does not have any lumps, you can feed the puppies without masala and other spices. Avoid onions also

Here is a list of the most toxic foods that you should avoid feeding your Shih Tzu: Chocolate: Highly toxic, can cause vomiting, seizures and even death. Avocado: Can cause vomiting and constipation. The pits can be dangerous. Bread dough: Raw yeast can lead to intestinal blockage. Raw eggs: Could contain bacteria which upset the stomach; can also affect the skin and coat. Macadamia nuts: Can cause depression, tremors, weakness, kidney stones and hypothermia. Nuts in general: Too much many can upset your dog’s stomach. Onions and garlic: Can affect the red blood cells, causing anaemia, as well as stomach problems. Xylitol: May be found in anything from candy to peanut butter to toothpaste. Affects insulin production, leading to weakness, seizures and even liver failure. Grapes, raisins and currants: Causes stomach upset and even kidney failure. Cow’s milk/dairy: Causes stomach upset. Green potatoes: Poisonous to dogs and humans. Mushrooms: Be careful on walks, as some mushrooms are toxic. Raw meat: Can contain bacteria which hurt the stomach; chicken bones or any cooked bone, could splinter and damage your dog’s gastrointestinal tract. Anything moldy: Could be toxic. Cherries: Parts contain cyanide, which is poisonous; the pits can also get stuck in your dog’s digestive tract. Fattening foods like cheese: Can lead to weight gain. Preservatives and additives: Could lead to liver problems. High quantity of grains: Can cause stomach upset. Salt: Can cause sodium poisoning. Spicy food: Can damage the digestive tract and the sense of smell.
