My brother in Christ we can't stop supporting art just because there's homeless people in the world. It's actually a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. It's a party for rich people also, but its primary goal isn't just to be a party with outrageous fashion choices.

lol the theme was based on the story of the garden of time, basically a count and countess try to slow down/reverse time with time alternating flowers that he grew to avoid all the army of poor people approaching to destroy them and their home of luxuries goods. The count runs out of flowers and eventually gets taken over, the story basically mocks the rich and their overly luxurious lifestyle while others struggle to survive. In a modern take, celebrities have a large net worth but live overly luxuriously instead of conserving their spending habits (overconsumption and donating to those less fortunate is what i've seen people say.)
The theme of "Garden of Time" is based on a short story of rich people being pursued by a working class mob 😂 they didnt do the homework before they picked it
These outfits are ridiculous but to be fair. The MET museum is an Encyclopedic museum that houses works from Egyptian, Byzantine , Greek , Roman to modern times. Historical artwork is responsible for our knowledge on how ancient civilizations lived .
The theme was garden of the future, and Kim used the cardigan, because she invisioned that she wakes up and wears her boyfriends clothes orsm. I think best outfits were Lanas, the one with moving butterflies and the chick from Euphoria

Okay Oompa looks HAWT AF with eyeliner. I also completely agree with Kris, with all that's going on in the world, holding something like the Met Gala seems incredibly tone deaf. The only thing that would make it better is if the money went to something different this year, like to fund relief efforts or something like that. Museums are important, but given that the Met Gala is held every year, I think they're probably good on funds for awhile. Give that money to a charity that actually needs it.

Lol i used to do guyliner and trip pants when i was a wee little highschooler. LoL. I had it all, peircings galor, finger nail polish, guyliner, and coats for days! All black. This made me think of that. Also the hilarity of him just squeeken in the begining. Lol
