Kentucky Derby Winner, Rich Strike, breezes 5 furlongs in :59 in front of the Memorial Day crowd. Working out in the afternoon before a crowd is very rare, but just goes to show how popular of a horse he is. Richie leaves for Belmont tomorrow!

The way he reacts to the cameras is remarkably similar to how Secretariat reacted..confidant, curious, and that ‘here I am’ attitude. If he could speak, he may say ‘I got this’! Beautiful horse!

It's great to see a race horse with such personality! He has so much spirit! God Bless his family that raised him.. Not over working him treating him like a family member . Not just a money maker! And especially his caretaker and best friend. I know this man will take care of him through thick and thin. Even the trainer said they were taking a nap together in the stall beforethe Derby. That is love not just a job! Rich Strike is a rarity. After listening to his story, knowing the love and affection he receives . It gives him a definite advantage of winning! Yes he a bit bossy and very high strung! He wants his space away from the other horses can't blame him for that! Most of all regardless of his placement I can see he will still be living a good complete life which every animal deserves! 🍀Best of Luck 🐎 Handsome fella ✌❤🙏

Rich is a beautifully formed horse, well muscled and walks elegantly, knows he's a racehorse. Also, very aware of his surroundings. Reminds me of Secretariat's personality. I think it's why so many love him...they've seen this before.

I work in canada woodbine they wont even give your horse a gate card even for 2 year old juvenile thoroughbreds if they can't breeze 5 furlongs in 59 seconds there's 2 year olds who can breeze in 47 seconds flat 😂😂😂😂 rich strike is gonna get fucking smoked at the Beloit respond to me June 11 when he loses 😂😂😂

They claim a horse doesn't KNOW when it Wins a race. I think that's bs. This dudes claim is that the horse doesn't know what a finish line is and so 'can't' know it won,,, BUT Geez,,, The Horse is FIRST,,, he knows he's FIRST,,, People go Crazy,,, his jockey his trainer his owner he gets roses and ceremonies and all of this... He HAS to know.

He likes hamming it up for the camera like Secretariat used to do….like that famous Preakness paddock photo that I believe Steve Haskin, of the Bloodhorse magazine, took where he looked straight into the camera. That was the photo placed on the cover of Time magazine or was it Newsweek? It was one of them. Richie reminds me of a smaller version of Big Red and he has the same red chestnut color. A few months ago he was a nobody and today he’s a rock star. I’m so happy for the horse and his connections. I’ll be rooting for him in the Belmont Stakes.

I’m just saying he’s a gorgeous horse and reminds me of Big Red in some matters. He was the under dog and no one was expecting him to win. I think it’s great and I’m happy for his owner/trainer/jockey!😊

Sometimes in life we are given a piece of beauty and joy from the Almighty. I smile and enjoy. Like I met and talked softly to a beautiful Anheuser Busch horse team I was privileged to get near in their horse trailers after a parade. It was a once in a lifetime happening for me and I was in awe for opportunity. So I just smiled and was blessed for the opportunity. 🙏😊

I loved watching the horses size each other up during the entrance walk & the raw stallion pride that Rich Strike exhibits, 'don't pat me!' & stamps his foot, and then rearing up from a glance by a competitor, a whole conversation going on hardly noticed by the humans, beyond being ornery.

Those eyes look very worried. He's not posing for the camera. Horses don't do that. He's very alert to something in that particular area. Looking worried, hyper vigilant, and definitely not relaxed.

He’s looking really good and feeling it too. Seems to like hamming it up for the camera….. is all this attention for me. I noticed the horse in the stall at the end tried to take a bite out of him as the groom walked him past. I wish the best for the little red horse and I’ll be rooting for him in the Belmont stakes.

@@ssqisinthemud3163 Every racetrack is a different surface. 59 seconds is fast for 5 furlongs at Churchill. From Saturday-Monday, 61 horses worked 5 furlongs, 5 finished under 1 minute and one was Rich Strike.

I suspected RS was waiting & trying to understand his time, his pace he was expected to give. Last Burst was his ability and drive to perform for their unified goal. There DEFINITELY something huge here.

He's waiting for his oats , molasses, barley , vitamins, mix. They just love that stuff. Then after every last oat is eaten, they munch on that nice alfalfa hay. He probably gets the best.

I don’t think you can change his style like that and get the same results . Just needs to stay within ten lengths and make a similar move to Jazil’s when they are going around the final turn not wait til the stretch . Majority of Belmont winners are first or second entering the stretch .

He looks fantastic. Moreover, he took off like a rocket, with a first furlong under 12 seconds and a fast first quarter. He shouldn't have any trouble keeping up with the field in the Belmont, and seems to like the distance. I hope he likes the track-it is very different from Churchill, which he obviously loves. Man those Horse's love the attention. Each stop by the Cameras, he is all about Hey Yeah it's Me, look at Me. In His Work out it was pretty much all business . Once the Work out rider let him go. In the final Furlongs at the Derby I still picture Him Coming up the inside of EPICENTER, and measuring Him the entire way, till He passed Him. Then it was like He put the Pedal to the Metal, and said So Long. IT looks like He Knows His Business Now. Guess will SEE. Wyoming, Robert,🐴🐴🐎🐎🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🐎🐎🐴🐴🙏🙏🙏
