Richard Armitage GMTV Interview May 4th, 2010 

He will always, always remain John Thornton in my mind :)

Richard was great as Mr. Thornton in North and South. I read the book and cannot separate the two.

Anybody else think that Richard Armitage would make an awesome Batman? He's got the looks, the voice, and the acting chops for it.

Now that RA is famous all over the globe all sorts of muck will be thrown at him as well. A lot of people just can't digest that a popular and good- looking actor can also be a sincere and gracious person. I hope he will be able to keep all his sweetness and sanity intact.

Safe to say that most Spooks fans were in shock as well after series 9. ;-) I hated the character of Lucas North, but Richard Armitage seems such a well-spoken, kind bloke (not to mention handsome!)

@Janeite1 Yes, that is definitely a Scottish accent. It sounds like she is from around Glasgow, definitely somewhere in Southern Scotland, but I cant tell you exactly where.

I really don't get the Hugh Jackman physical comparisons. They only have a passing resemblance. Richard has more chiseled features - defined brow ridges, stronger chin and jawline and that nose, of course. Their eyes are very different, too. HJ is a good actor and a nice guy but to me he's just not as attractive as Richard.

@Janeite1 Yes, and she sounds like she's from Glasgow or around Glasgow. The girl who played Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films is from around there and has a very similar accent.
