@@ddrolet9978 I do believe that he was involved in an unfortunate accident involving acid, which left him leg disabled, so really he should've been perfectly capable of holding the snow globe.
"its not like losing a pen is it, its so much worse............would you like a pen? I have a spare." "no thankyou" "please take it" " why are you giving it to me!?" ".............I don't know!"
Richard Ayoade is every iota of the person I want to be: funny, cool and intelligent, plus every word he says is necessary, meaningful and articulate (doesn't over exaggerate and is verbalises his emotions clearly). Yet I feel the only quality from this video I own is clumsiness, I would definitely be the one to break the snow globe 😂
+Emily Mae Darby I like how you "over exaggerate" by saying that, lol. Don't remember when people started using that phrase, but it's like a little poke in the eye every time I hear it :P
Seeing Richard geek out over the Citizen Kane snow globe makes the film nerd in me light up. It also helps that Richard Ayaode is also a filmmaker himself, so seeing filmmakers geek out over other filmmakers is just really cool to see.
I keep coming back to watch this again and gain. I so understand Richards reaction......and the nervous giggling from Chris. it reminds me of how i went into spasms of uncontrollable laughter when my grandmother fell and broke a kneecap , totally not from a place of humour, but of mortification.......but go explain that to the angry natives!!!!
My feeling is that this is real. If you watch Travel Man, you'll know that it isn't in the style of the show or Ayoade to fake this sort of thing for a laugh. I've watched several episodes and this is a unique moment. The way Ayoade flinches and raises his hands to protect himself also looks pretty genuine to me. If it was staged you'd think they'd at least get a better shot as well. I suppose you could argue that O'Dowd did it on purpose without telling anyone else, but that seems unlikely to me, especially as he seems so nervous and uncomfortable after it happens. If it is fake, they did a good job at making it feel real, but I for one don't have a reason to doubt it was a real accident.
I agree. Also Chris turns so red it hurts to look at and seems like he is about to cry and he is known for being a generally nice friendly guy so I don't see it as being staged.
I wish they were sent to Holland, where Richard loses his glasses and they get so drunk they decide to hire prostitutes but then are too scared to do anything so they take them to a fair.
I honestly cant tell if this was real or not, the frame of the shot when he drops it is so bad it could be so we don't see anything happening. But the line "now you can see the magnification" straight after is so cool I dont care
RyanGiggsOBE Agreed. His apology was almost too authentic. If it wasn't real then he really, really sold it. Although, if you watch when he drops it...it looks like he simply tried to crack the same gag which would have been redundant...it was like a set-up for the drop. Either way, well executed and definitely made me cringe lol
I reckon it's genuine, Chris does the "fake drop" act which dislodges the globe from the stand. It's probably quite heavy so once it was dislodged, it would fall with the slightest of movements.
They edit the clips still. After the globe broke they likely cut and had producers or handlers come and talk to the guy, apologize, pay for it etc. After they'd taken care of the admin side of it, they'd re-start. You can always hear the quick cuts between segments that weren't actual long takes.
The shop owner answering: 'It's Austrian Alpine water' is THE MOST Austrian thing ever. Like, that's a very Austrian thing to say. They are proud of their water quality and will show at any chance. Source: I live in Austria and have witnessed it many times. Don't mention water or tap water because you will probably get this response. So cute!
+RavnoUK They have done Amsterdam and I believe the red light district girls don't leave their windows. You can visit them (where they have safety-bells and buttons) and they don't just go to your house or join you on amusement-park-rides.
This clip alone, had me bursting in laughter in the middle of the night and I didn't care if I woke up anybody, because these guys are hilarious, I mean, I don't know but I think they should have their own comedy TV series, but who am I to tell the oh so great BBC on how to handle their programming, I don't pay them fees.
People need to relax. He broke a shitty Car snowglobe that was already for sale. You all act as if they didn't pay for it after breaking it. Of course they did.
+Scott Lucky So you've never been to a museum in your entire life? What are you, 12? I assume that's the case since you appear to be unfamiliar with the concept of "gift shop", which ALL museums have. Also, you're ugly.
+Esty6 So you've never been to a museum in your entire life? What are you, 9? I assume that's the case since you appear to be unfamiliar with the concept of "gift shop", which ALL museums have. Also, you're ugly.
At 3:25 if you watch with the sound off, it looks like the Austrian makes a stink face after shaking hands with Ayoade and O'Dowd's like "woah really?"
Meh, maybe for a single awesome spoof movie, but I could *definitely* see him being amazing as the new Doctor. Mandatory complaint: Of course, *anybody* would be better than Mr. Grumpy McMumblepants... >_>
His smug laughter at playing the joke is priceless because he was gleeful right until the moment it was stolen away from his stupidity!!! ahahahah #ITcrowd fix
A friend brought me a snow globe with moomins from Finland. I left it on my work-desk. We had a new employee who always blamed others for her mistakes and she broke it while I was gone. She didn’t even say a word, until I discovered it broken. She still didn’t say a word… This is not about the snow globes, it’s about human nature. I swear.
