+Nick Bloor no joke. Funny how Jack mentions James and James mentions Jack but neither mention Richard. They can't because they know that they don't hold a CANDLE to Richard! UGH! love him so much. I want a life size doll of him to cuddle for xmas.
Love how Richard flipped it at the end. The thing I liked about it the most was that it didn't seem like it was something he thought to be funny, but something he just genuinely wanted to ask and then made funny.
And notice how when the sports psychologist started to feel nervous and uncomfortable he throws in the 'are you attracted to me' joke to release that tension. His whole persona of the awkward geek is hilariously ironic.
of course it's not - every person, particularly those in the entertainment industry, have characters that they play when on camera, even if they don't mean to. Granted, they are usually based off of themselves, but a highly exaggerated version of themselves.
Richard Ayoade ALWAYS manages to turn the tables on any interviewer. He has this way of subverting any plans they had on what to talk about and just gain complete control without them realising until it's too late. I fucking love it, he's a genius.
It's been about 2 or 3 weeks, I've started nonstop watching The Big Fat Quiz of Everything, Would I Lie To You, and everything British. Hereby including Richard Ayoade. And yesterdaynight, I had a dream in which I had a revolutionairy plan to wash horses. And he was the one that was going to buy it from me. I hardly remember what we talked about, but I believe Noel was running/yelling in the background or outside. And I remember thinking; 'Wow, Richard has such a soothing voice, I could almost fall asleep here at this bar (we were at a bar).' And then I woke up and realized I had been sleeping. I also believe we never finished the transaction, sadly. Dream-me is still poor.
What impressed me how James played into that concentration joke without even blinking, I don't like the dude in general, but that was very well executed, most of the time you see a tiny glimmer of a smirk in their eyes when they spot the joke and go about executing it, but he didn't even bat an eyelid, he just played straight into it with no transition. :)
I don't know whether or not these three are in a movie together, but they should be! (And if they are, could someone please tell me what it's called so I can go and look it up, thank you).
