I fell in love with Dr. Kildare when I was 10yrs old and I fell in love with Father Ralph, in Thornbirds. I keep falling in love with Chamberlain in all his films. He sings so heavenly. He looks like a million dollars in this interview...Thanks for this marvelous interview with this fine actor and fine human being.
Chamberlain's an articulate and entertaining raconteur. A sweet man who's had the life he wanted and emerged with a good measure of peace and understanding.
I met Richard Chamberlain when he played Captain VonTrapp in the Sound of music in New York City. He was completely a gentleman and gave a wonderful performance. This is a lovely memory for me. ❤❤
I was in love with Richard as a little girl when he played Dr. Kildare. I had the trading cards, his records, and dreamed of being a nurse and working with him. I did dedicate my life to the medical field, 48 years as a Tech. He is such a gentleman,so well spoken. He stole my heart again as Father Ralph,I loved, and hated him in that series The Thorn Birds. He broke my heart again when he came out, he was my generations Rock Hudson. I still love him ! There are some things you never get over...This was a great interview.
I absolutely adore this man! I find him soo captivating and easy to listen to. His voice is soo soothing.....you can actually hear the kindness in his voice! He has lived such a fulfilling wonderful life! He is just soo lovely and a true gentleman! I fell in love with him in The Thorn Birds! Only wish I could have met him! You can tell he has a deeply kind spirit!!! Love You Richard! Wishing you many more happy healthy years to come! ♥️
He just comes across as such a kind, decent man. I just wish more roles were thrown his way because it's such a joy every time he appears on the screen.Class act!
A beautiful soul inside and out. What an absolute pleasure to listen to him just chat. I've always thought he is a far better actor than he gets credit for. Thanks so much for posting this.
I remember having a school boy crush on Richard when Dr.Kildare first aired in the 1960’s and having to keep it to myself. It’s wonderful, all these years later, to reflect on the life and career of an excellent actor and a genuinely decent man. 💕
Oh, what a divine lovely man, so humble and sensitive soul. I have been a fan of Richard's for so long. He is a wonderful versatile actor, always gave strong, quality performances. I loved him as the baddie in The Towering Inferno. In the Thorn Birds, he was sensational, his scenes with Barbara Stanwyck were some of the best acting between two mega actor's I had ever seen (loved Barbara). He has the most beautiful speaking voice. He is articulate and well spoken. He is one of the most handsome men I have ever seen on the big screen. He looks fabulous now, he will be 88 years old this coming March. I hope he keeps in good health, he is much loved by his fans. This was a real bonus. Thank you for the upload.
I agree! Barbara Stanwyck is my favourite actress of all time! She certainly had more range in acting than any other actor/actress I’ve ever seen. Beautiful person inside and out too.
Have loved him as an actor since I can remember, 4 years old (I am 53 yrs). He is an absolutely amazingly gifted artist, and a beautiful soul. If he hasn't received the Kennedy Center Award (life time achievement) he definitely deserves it And the award that the President of the United States gives out... He is a National Treasure, he has been part of Television History, has helped in causes for human rights, and nature. He is truly an Icon. And I must add, he is still incredibly handsome💖
Richard Chamberlain has always been a stellar actor for me. Personally, I thought his performance as Tchaikovsky in “The Music Lovers”, the Ken Russell avant-garde adaptation of his life, with Glenda Jackson, had a tremendous impact on my life at the time. The balance of the creative genius and the personal torture of being gay, in the 1800’s mind you, was brilliantly captured by Richard. Of course it’s a mere page in his astonishingly brilliant career, it’s a page I love. I remember well watching Dr. Kildare as a kid, it was great. Richard’s ability to express his thoughts so clearly and precise just captivates me. I loved this interview, Bravo!!!!
Such a gentleman and beautiful Soul! I absolutely adore Richard Chamberlain. He is just so beautiful inside and out! There is just so much to love about the amazing gentleman that he is!❤
I have enjoyed this man as many years as he was on tv and movies.he has been my idol all these years. I’m still a fan. I have had the pleasure of meeting him 3 times. He is great to talk too. A very beautiful soul.
The real thing, a serious theater artist. There aren’t many in the business, but he is one of them! And he had a good inner moral compass that guided him through his amazing life, and he’s come out unscathed and unspoiled, as far as I can see!
Mr. Chamberlain, I’m so happy to see how great you look and that you’re healthy and positive. I always followed Dr. Kildare and every program you were participating as I always thought you were a nice and respectful very professional actor. I’m just very happy to hear from you again. I lost record of how many times i have seen “The Thorn Birds” movie. God bless you!
Loved Richard as Father Ralph in the magnificent Thorn Birds, he & Rachel were fabulous together. Their love scene on the beach must be the best either on TV or in Flim ever. Richard was the most handsome priest I ever saw. He is a real heartthrob ever now. He looks fabulous for his age.
Hai ragione. Si sente che ha studiato in inghilterra. Parla...che non sembra neppure americano. Gli americani si mangiano le parole. Chamberlainle scandisce. Poi ha una voce sensuale. A man forever love ❤
I absolutely adore this man!!! He was such a wonderful actor and person!! Loved him as Dr Kildare and in Thornbirds. I have been in love with him from the first time I saw him!!!! ❤️🤟🏻💓
Richard Chamberlain is a brilliant storyteller of stories he has played in his films as an actor in his many different roles and which he has enjoyed and continues to enjoy. He's still one of the prettiest men and most of all a great actor and he has a nice, refreshing and open manner in the interviews when he talks about his work. He is fun and very friendly. I believe that Richard experienced and lived his life in such a way that it always makes him happy, without stress and hectic. He is a great man to look for in the world if you want to find such a man again. I could hear him for hours, as good as my English is enough. Thank you for the great interview. ❤
I had the honor and great pleasure of seeing Richard on Broadway with Dorothy Maguire in Night of the Iguana. Wonderful. She was as beautiful as ever and Richard was amazing. Together, they brought the magic.👵🦋🦋🦋🕊️🕯️🦎
I am close to his age and have loved him since I saw him first as Dr. Kildare. I have also seen him in Shogun, Thornbirds and even more than one of his mini series, especially in the Robert Ludlum's "The Bourne Identity" series (spy thriller). That voice of his, touches the very soul. I could listen to him for hours. The fact that he is gay takes nothing from the man/person he is. I could almost feel his excitement, regrets, whatever he was explaining, just comes through. He is an original, a man with a heart. He talked about his insecurities, his love/affection for the roles in which he has performed. I admire his honesty, in talking about his shortcomings, etc. Only someone who is comfortable in his own skin can say those things and sound sincere. It was wonderful listening to him. What a man! He should be given the recognition that he so richly deserves. WOW! Kudos, Mr. Chamberlain.
True, all around the world. I watched it in spanish in Puerto Rico. Oh, THE THORN BIRDS‼That was a streetsweeper and a must watch. Thank you Richard Chamberlain, Sir.👑⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great actor! I have always enjoyed seeing him perform. Favorites are Man in the Iron Mask, Centennial, The Thorn Birds (both) and The Bourne Identity. Also a wonderful artist.
RICHARD CHAMBERLAIN ALWAYS HAD A SOOTHING CALM VOICE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT SO EASY TO LISTEN TO WHEN SHARING ANYTHING ABOUT HIS AMAZING LIFES JOURNEY
Totally LOVE!! Richard Chamberlain...my.most favourite actor of all time 😘🙏Thanks for posting this,it was so great hearing his thoughts and speaking his truth, fascinating! Cheers from New Zealand 🍾🥂🇳🇿🥳xo
For some crazy reason I thought Richard was dead. I am so pleased that I was wrong. He was a major heart throb in the Thornbirds. Still remember that amazing beach scene with Meggie.
Richard Chamberlain is the whole package! Extraordinary good looks and an accomplished actor! Richard, you are still a hearthrob and a very kind intelligent man.
Great interview..Richard Chamberlain who I first saw in Dr Kildare. Loved him ever since then...seen Thorn Birds was great. Such a gentleman with a beautiful voice too.
He is my favorite actor. I'm dying with him on his movie "The Thorn Birds" filmed in 1983. Looking at him as a priest love him so much. He will always be the best and i love him forever ❤❤❤
Loved him since Dr. Kildare. I was in his fan club in the 60s. Have is album. He's a great singer. I've watched him in everything he ever made. He has aged eloquently and I'm still a big fan.
What a fabulous man and actor. King of the Mini Series, is his and he deserves it. I could listen to him talk all day and watch his shows all night. I hope all the other actors are as generous to him as he is to all of them. You don't fine actors as humble, kind and giving as Richard. I have to add, he is the most gorgeous human to ever grace the tv screen.
I think Richard Chamberlain was one of the inspiring forces that motivated me to be interested in photography, film and writing . I LOVED his film The Bourne Identity 🏆🏆🎬🎬🎬
Richard Chamberlain is my love forever! He was so nice, intelligent, talented, kind, open, full of light and love to the whole world, people, work, colleague... I will miss him so much!

Love Richard Chamberlain when I was young love him more now because he is so genuine super talented actor and became better looking as he aged so distinguished with his beautiful grey hair
I saw him in Richard II in 1972 at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles. By a fluke got to sit two rows from the front. You could see the spit when they talked. It was a thrill.

I grew up watching & fall in love over &9ver again with him when I 1st saw him in Shogun, than I never missed any series or movie tht had him in in, such as Man in d Iron Mask, Count of Monte Cristo. He was & still d most handsome man, his voice complement his personality. Never failed to sweep me of my feet whenever I watched any of his acting. Love you Richard Chamberlain
What an absolute gent..... Thought he was so cool in 'The Count of Monte Cristo'....and 'The man in the iron mask'... Awesome ! Thanks for ALL the great memories Richard....long live the king 👑
I saw Dr. Kildare as I was 10 years young in Indonesien, where I was born. Now I'm living in Germany and follow almost of his films...a great actor, good looking, nice soul and sound ... adorable
This clip was suggested on my Instagram feed and there was something to tragic and yet magical about the music and the chemistry shown between the two leads shown for a couple of seconds that I saved that clip instantly. I heard the music first, which is phenomenal to say the least. It was The Thorn Birds theme music by Henry Manchini. Then I knew I had to watch it as well and watch I did. Better I'd say I gorged on it. The Thorn Birds was made before I was born. Moments into the mini series and I became a huge fan of Richard Chamberlain. Must admit that it was not 100% pure, because he reminds of the late Christopher Reeve who I adore. This impossibly handsome man with his impeccable manner and eloquence belongs to an era already gone. Wish him all the best.
