Every one of these were good enough to turn around the old man image. It’s just a shame that it was too late, the damage had been done. The public were buying French and German nondescript soulless cars instead. MG-Rover didn’t deserve to die. Their marketing could have been better, they should have been shouting from the rooftops about the 1.4 ZR being quicker than a 2.0 Golf GTi to 60. Or the ZR 160 having better power to weight than a Mini Cooper S. Amongst other such facts within the Zed range, you didn’t get to know about these things until you were already stepping into the dealerships already with an interest.
Remember when MG was slated to be an awesome part of the future? Shame the era of the basic 'car' they were so good at is no more. I'd buy any of these.
