What I love is that over the last 20 odd years, the joke sort off started to die down, then out of nowere Jezza brings it back in the Grand Tour hahahaha
@@adinegru123 The one when Hammond trys to make a bug out van. At the end, Jezza and Slow ‘kill’ Hamster and they show the audience his ashes with a speciously White tooth 😛
I remember another scene from the Peel P50 episode when Jeremy was one the road and talked about how it's not a very fast vehicle. He said: "Even the skinniest, shortest chap with the whitest of teeth will struggle to get past 35."
That's not necessarily a dig at Hammond as the joke last resort for losing weight is having your teeth cleaned to save the weight of tooth plaque. Kind of like a super car having super thin paint to save on weight.
Making fun of Richard Hammond 101. Joke about his size, hamster gets you extra points Joke about him crashing, a lot Joke that he's an American Joke that he has his teeth whitened (which he has)
The part where James was like, "I heard you're hung like a church mouse" was so savage. I like the Grand Tour but I miss when they would genuinely roast the shit out of each other lmaoooo
Forgot the Grand Tour episode where he built an apocalypse survival vehicle and they blew him up, where Clarkson found his ashes and "confirmed" it by pointing out that it had a "suspiciously white tooth."
When they launched The Grand Tour, they had a party in London. Nobody seemed to notice that one of the pictures in the newspapers was the 3 of them standing in the street, the window above them had a large advert for teeth whitening in it.
You missed at least one: Clarkson made a reference to it I believe when they were doing the closing studio bit from the Mexico special: "Someone will find a mysteriously white tooth in his taco!" or something to the effect
1:19 jeremy and james were already on the same page lmao... subtle moments like that really illustrate why the greatness of this era of the show is nearly impossible to recreate
It's amazing how many of those references, subtle jokes and running gags I've missed during the watching of these brilliant series. I'm just realizing this now when I'm watching these sort of compilation videos.
I'm so glad this video exists after I searched for it! This was one of my favourite running jokes from Top Gear. Makes me want to go back and watch all the episodes again!
Another scene was missing during the cool wall scene Clarkson was like "I know some things that don't work in white shoes white shoes teeth?" "Hammond get off!"
As a Top Gear and Helluva fan. The "I have NOT had my teeth whitened!" response is very familiar to Moxxie's "I am not fat!" response. Coincidentally, Moxxie's VA is also named Richard! :)
You forgot the clip of James and Jeremy holding a dustpan full of Richard Hammond on TGT, saying "it is definitely Hammond because we found this suspiciously white tooth..."
I think you missed one, in the Peel P50, Jeremy says "even the skinniest, shortest chap with the whitest of teeth, would struggle to get past 35" and i believe he's referring to Hammond
You forgot the one where they are racing to the mexican border and James May mentions a drive through dentist, where Hammond will most likely stop by :D
It did lead to one of their most brilliant jokes. Jeremy said Boris was speaking Latin and any viewers who understood should contact the show. He then proceeded to read out the address in Latin, complete with the zip code in Roman Numerals.
Good job Top Gear never did a special in Brazil where I recently moved. Everyone on TV has BLINDINGLY white teeth with a full set of perfect veneers.. it’s quite astonishing for the first few weeks and then you just don’t notice. Who cares if Hammond whitened his teeth. Better than having mahogany implants like Jezza. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
my teeth are whiter than Richard's and do you know what I do..... i fucking brush them....... if Jeremy's teeth is what the Brits see as good I'm glad we fought them off
