This movie is fucking genius. What it does to you emotionally if you watch the whole thing and start watching it right over again is incredible. Thanks for this great work of cinema linklater.
My mother passed away just a couple of weeks before this released. We we're so excited to see it together. Boyhood will always be our movie.. it holds a really special place in my life as a 36-year old now. Love you mom!
i am sick of people saying this movie isn't good. I wish people got the point of the movie. I honestly love this movie. I hope to write to Richard during the summer about the film and how I feel about it
This great project has helped remind me that we're all just these children + experience + time. It's amazing to consider the scope of this idea. Well done RL.
Hey Richard. Thank you for shooting this movie on Film. There are so many reasons for not shooting digital and the best reason is that there is something called film. I'm convinced that if you ever turn your back on film, you'll regret it.
I like the fact you see all the actors age during the movie and it's really them not a different actor like example a young kid actor then movie jumps and its older different actor
It has truly been such an epic year for cinema with Her, Under the Skin Begin Again and Calvary. I have high expectations for this and suspect they may yet be met :)
Wow this film was amazing. It took 12 years to make? Did you guys know that it took 12 years to make? It's so magical you can see a kid grow up on screen it's fucking magical. BOYHOOD. IT TOOK TWELVE YEARS TO MAAAAAKE. IT TOOK THEM LONGER THAN IT TOOK THEM THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA.
+Noah King The stupidity is real... That's not why people love the film, how long it took to make is irrelevant really, it just adds to the experience. Dazed & Confused only took 1 year to make but they are both equally good for the same reasons. Off course people are gonna bring up the fact that it took 12 years to make since its the firsr time ever that a narrative film has been made that way but dont hold that against the film itself. This was clearly the best way to tell this story and Linklater should rightfully be celebrated for giving us something that we have never seen before.
ohmy god. This is the best movie ever, shitty, cringeworthy dialogue, flat boring cinematography, and a boring asshole main character that we all hate at the end. BUT HEY IT TOOK 12 YEARS TO MAKE. NOTHING HAS EVER TAKEN 12 YEARS TO MAKE HOLY SHIT IT'S TOOK 12 YEARS TO MAKE THEREFORRE IT'S THE BEST EVERRRRR
No one would have cared if the film blowed. But yeah, thats just my opinion.
