For those negative comments about the fact that the ifoga is wrong and whatnot, it's okay. But to answer questions about the meaning it's sounds better in Samoan lol but I'ma put it in English because my spelling and grammar might offend ppl more😬. My grandfather wrote this song, sung by my beautiful mother Poufa V Noga. I used to ask her about the meanings of all songs written by them, she told me back then this song in particular, was about the food back home. From my understanding, when our people prepared food or a meal I should say, that the fish is what makes the meal complete. "Sina i'a, e teuteua Le mea atoa". It is indeed a beautiful song, for those who continue to listen and reminisce about Penina O Tiafau, thank you for you continuous love! God bless.
Beautiful...! first time i've heard this song and have it on repeat! Would you have your Mothers version to share? Can totally understand if not... I'm a NZ born samoan girl who loves to hear the originals of all the re-makes.. love the modern versions too but as the saying goes.. nothing beats the original...💝
I have been searching for these song, I remember when I first heard the song it was sung by Poufa Vitale Noga, and her voice was mesmerizing. Written by Malia and Alapati, Yes, that this is your Grandfather this was back in 1982 and I'm almost 60.What a beautiful song. I found this version, sung by my all time favorite singer, and it's as mesmerizing as the first time I heard it sung by the legendary Poufa Vitale Noga. (your Beautiful mother) Thank you. Thank you. - Thank you, Richard Parker for revising this amazing song. God Bless you all. I would love to hear your mother's version again.
This song is talking bout Samoa how Samoans are are happy for what they have no matter what talks about the culture is changing but the way of living is simple fish you get from the sea chicken from land as well as the banana it’s a beautiful song cause it talks about how they gather food till today Samoa is striving from there own sustainable living what makes the culture still alive Samoan ppl were naturally happy ppl but we got distracted from the man made things of this world God bless you all and be thankful for what you have!
Beautiful song and video, I’m Tuvaluan and I would like to dedicate it to all my Samoan friends in NZ and here in Australia. Manuia and stay safe to you all 🥰🥰 #loveallrichardssongs
the paraphrasing, the music , the lyrics & the Clarity of sound combined with Richards voice, you dont have to be a Samoan to be proud of this piece. simply brilliant.

Nice rendition of a golden oldie🤙🌺 I think the people that don't like it should be tested for covid because 1 of the main symptoms of the disease is having no taste🤣🤣🤣🌿🌸🌺
I remembered seeing my grandmother doing this when I was very young. I was so scared for her. But when the family saw it was her, them we're all crying and embraced her with so much love. Ifoga is HUGE tradition in our culture. Its shows so much love and respect for humanity.

WOW What an absolutely beautiful song even more so sung by an incredible talented man who did this song justice, I don't even understand the words & I'm not worried bcoz the song speaks 4 itself ... RP I enjoy ur voice immensely & this is no exception, you seem to have the 'knack' of adding smoothness & style to Island ballets that sound sooo goood that like most fans cud listen all day to ... music is a universal language that no matter what culture you belong to if the words match the music & the voice matches the song then its bound to be 'a hit' & that becomes the game changer THANK YOU RP 4 sharing your God given talent 4 our Poly people to listen to🙏 these island ballets never lose their charm when you have sum1 like RP singing it justice💯👏👏
This ceremony is called "pulou ole ola" or "cover of life". When a man has committed a serious crime he must make ammends to the family. He offers his body under a fine mat for forgiveness. He cannot see anything under mat and dosnt know if a family member might come over to hit him while under the mat. I visited American Samoa for two months in a fishing village so I learned alot about Fa'a Samoa.
Awesome lyric, very inspiring as usual, your the best, love your voice, and the words of all your songs, love you Richard, keep up with your great music, so lovely
I still remembered those Samoan festivals, with food and Penina o Tiafau band playing this song and many of their hits. We called the festival (Siva Samoa)

Don't understand the song but its R.Ps song.....the island culture is dope, hella tight.... we try to keep our island native culture of head hunting warfare and clothing tradition, and Batok tattoos of the ancient in recreation in the Philippines 🇵🇭 by playing the the tribal warfare during festival gathering.... lovely song. Cheers from lone state of Texas🇨🇱🇺🇲🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻 God bless🙏
This song first l heard sang by the Penina of tiafau long time ago. While Manuaifua and his wife Malia with her sister Poufa Vitale together in the band those days .very beautiful song and l don't know about who's the songwriter. I am so glad to hear again as was trying to follow up with the profoundly lyrics.
