I remember buying the albums out of the trunk of a car. You didn't let your parents know you had them, but in reality we learned where to buy them from our parents.
When we and my brother were little we had to go upstairs to our rooms because my aunt was coming over to visit with my mom. After awhile we got bored n came out of our rooms and heard a man telling jokes with cussing followed by ppl cracking up laughing! Me and my brother's introduction to the comedy of Richard Pryor!
The popin' and cracklin' is louder than the recording. I had this on tape. No popin' and cracklin' on tape, just wore it out. I knew this album word for word, I can still remember a lot of it. listen to it all the time back in the day. I still quot from this album, to this day when the opportunity arises. I used to imitate this album all the time. My favorite part of this album is.. well all of it, but the part I used to imitate the most (verbatim) was Wino, Craps and Mudbone. Side 2 or B side is.. Cocaine, When Your Woman Leaves You, Mudbone (Intro), Mudbone - Little Feets. We love and miss you Richard..God Bless..RIP.
Me & my dad would listen to this on tape cassette back in the day too! Driving in his car going anywhere reciting word for word. Your story sounds almost exactly like mines!😂😂😂 Our favorites were Wino, When Your Woman Leaves You, but Craps was our #1 best!!! Everytime me n Daddy would see each other we would quote from this album. OMG there will NEVER EVER be another as raw and funny as Richard Pryor! R.I.H. THE REAL KING OF COMEDY👑❤
Your story sounds is exactly like mine and many others. All although I not only knew every album.Every work day we album but i've registered to go along with the Skit
I grew up listening to these stand up albums with my ear to my brother and sisters doors.... glad I could recapture these pasts with you... craklin and pops are the what I remember being the character...
BeetleJuice : Morning dog , I can remember my mom ( RIP MAMA) having get~2gethers & I would pray that everybody would hurry up & get cool slow the party down & throw on some Richard. I would hide in the livin room closet w/ some lorna doone cookies & just enjoy the brilliance & comedic genius of the Greatest 2 ever do it. Thanx again homey 4 the post & thanx 4 your reply.
I love this, but I'm not used to the record crackle sound. If you could do an 8-Track version, with an occasional tape being eaten sound, it would be a perfect memory! Lol
can anybody tell me the tape or album witch Richard Pryor said I heard the bullet two time the first time it pass me then I heard it again when I pass it
